    Wink

    Emilia - White bird

Why did you lied that you love me?
With a white wedding you gifted another (woman).
I gave you my pride and promised to be faithful,
and you left me to shed tears. (x2)

There is no one to hug me,
you are far away from me now.
I'll turn into a white bird,
I'll fly on your wedding day. (x2)

I'll send you a feather from my wings,
a tear would melt down on your lips.
Then look up in the sky,
somewhere there a white bird would fly.(x2)

With you sight you tear off my hearth.
I want to die for your happiness,
    but don't you forget
the bird with the white wings!(x4)

Good job, a couple of corrections and some questions.

Glad to help. Can you explain the significance of the white bird, please?

    Emilia - White bird

Why did you lie that you love me?
You gave a white wedding to another (woman).
I honored you and promised to be faithful,
pride is the wrong word, is this correct?
and you left me to shed tears. (x2)

There is no one to hug me,
you are far away from me now.
I'll turn into a white bird,
[b]I'll fly on your wedding day. (x2)

I'll send you a feather from my wings,
a tear would melt down on your lips.
Then look up in the sky,
somewhere there a white bird would fly.(x2)

when I see you, you break my heart.
    Is this a correct translation?
I would die for your happiness,
    but don't you forget
the bird with the white wings!(x4)

Hi again and thank you for your help!
Well I am not very sure about the symbol that represents the white bird. Here is my opinion:
White is known as symbol of purity and peace, while the bird could be a sign for a freedom, but here I think it's more likely to be allusion of the woman's soul. So may be the white bird shows the purity and the innocence of the wounded woman that from now on will live only in the memory of the relationship but she won't search for revenge and will rise above the narrow-minded world where the unfaithful guy stays. This is only my understanding of the character. It is possible the white bird to be a part of the folklore which I am not familiar with.

    Now about the translation.
    -"did lie" and not "did lied". This is grammar, that I don't know very well so I accept your version;
    -"gave a white wedding". Yes, it's better this way I guess;
-"I honored you". You are correct - pride is гордост. So honor matches better. But it isn't right as a phrase. Is it correct to say "I gave you my honor"? Because here the meaning (as far as I understand it) comes from some old understandings about marriage and sex. The honor is the virginity. Also may be it refers about the fact that the man wasn't a nice husband who cherished his wife and the honor represents the silent suffering of the loving woman. And then even after she did all that stuff he chooses to be with another one.
-"when I see you, you break my heart". The meaning isn't the same. The way that he looks at her breaks her hearth, not the fact that she is seeing him. I don't have any suggestions here as my "With you sight you tear off my hearth" isn't right.
-"I would die for your happiness". Yes, you are right, your version passes along the meaning. (Not sure about that expression)

How about 'with your gaze, you break my heart'?

In regard to her virginity, we would probably say: I remained pure for you, or something like that. Remaining faithful to someone usually refers to not cheating on them rather than not waiting until marriage to have sex with someone.

Maybe it refers to breaking up her home. When someone cheats, the person who he cheats with is called a home breaker or home wrecker.

I still think the word honor should be involved

No, here it is about him looking at her. May be in the way he was looking at her she could figure it out that he loves her no more so that's how her hearth was broken. I think what MyGoLoco suggested is right. As long as you can say that in english

"I honored you" / "I gave yo my honer".... = I gave you my heart, you have that honor to have won my heart (he is her hero) "and I promised to be faithful".

I am absolutely sure that this girl is a virgin, because only a virgin could sing in this way. To love in that way. And he is probably her first love. She dreamed to marry him and give him her virginity. Virginity = faithfulness. Like she promised him that she would stay a virgin. (It makes more sense than - I slept with you and I promise you I won't do that with other man). This is somehow old-fashioned song - and very beautiful one, so I am sure she was a virgin, a young dreamy girl.

White bird id probably a pigeon. Pigeons represent young lovers. White pigeon is a bride, metaphorically speaking, a bride in white. Bird and bride replaced their roles, and that's, in my opinion, the most touching detail of the song.

Feather from my wings = a tear from my eye. Eyes= wings. She can only fly= see him, from the distance.

Yes, I wrote first: I agree with Steve that.... although I thought using "woman's" psychology, you were thinking about the language... but we "smelled" the same...something was missing here....

This is clearly a love song. No sex things. She forgave him in the end, she didn't hate him because he had left her and married other woman.

Only true love forgives... right?! Love.....

    Bye!
