    The song is probably from the last 10 years or so. It's got a medium-pace beat and I don't remember any phrase in the lyrics, but it contains something to the effect of a "ship" or "storm" or "sail" or "ocean" lol...

    The singer is male, btw.

    I listened to your music sample but I did not recognise the tune.
    Most of the songs with lyrics you provided that come to (my) mind are older than 10 years ago.

    nope, and nope. 3 strange days sounds a tad closer melody-wise. Except for the actual melody, the sounds, instruments, beat, pace, etc of the song I'm thinking of, is similar to Jann Arden's "Sleepless", with slower lyrics interposed over it. I'm pretty sure the song is newer than "Sleepless".
