Can you help with this?

I was listening to a tape while on holiday and it had the soul songs of the 80s on it like Karen White, Atlantic Starr etc so i think i can assume its from that era.

It is a man/group singing.

The only thing i can remember is him keep repeating the word "soul" in the chorus and someting about soul heart or soul love. soul in his heart? or something

I promised myself i would remember some of the lyrics for when i came back home but i cant remember anything but him repeating soul.

I know its not soul of my soul by michael bolton.

Any help pls- I cant find any leads and i cant go back to find out! :-(
