I was in a band awhile ago called "Far From Sundown" and this is one of the songs I wrote that I'm extremely proud of. both musically and lyrically. But of course, I'm always eager for feedback and wouldn't mind hearing what other think about this song.
This song is truly open for ones own interpretation, but for me, I wrote this song with the intention to tell the story of times when you feel like that reoccurring nightmare seems more real then we'd like it. Almost like it takes over and we can't escape it. Thus the name "Tribute to Our Nightmares". I'd like to think that the music I wrote for it matches the emotion I want others to feel. But please feel free to compliment, bash, review or even tell me what you feel when you hear this song. Either way, I hope you enjoy! Here is a link to a LIVE version of the song: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/384541
Edit: this is not me singing btw.

Tribute To Our Nightmares
You can’t see them
‘Cause they’re inside of you
Do you ever get that feeling
Like death is just waiting for you
Give into all the shadows
Purge your mind of memories
Don’t be frightened by the echoes
You will soon see what they’ve seen
You will soon see the demons
The ones who steal souls
You’ll find your conviction,
Amended and rewrote
You will see the end, right before your eyes
Here they come again
The nightmares in your head
The demons march inside
Bring your horrors to life
The pendulum swings
As the days go by
Can you hear the demons sing
“Nightmares rise!”
So it begins, feel that fear
Reach for help, scream, but no one hears
Feel your life, just fading away
Your soul is theirs, it’s theirs to break
Do you remember that feeling
Remember what it’s like
Are you another victim
To the emptiness inside
You will see the end, right before your eyes
Here they come again
The nightmares in your head
The demons march inside
Bring your horrors to life
The pendulum swings
As the days go by
Can you hear the demons sing
“Nightmares rise!”
A slave to the mind
Devours faith inside
Breaking the barrier
To the dreams that you hide
They’ll rip you apart
Make you scream to the stars
You can struggle and cry,
But your nightmares still alive
