Every land would hold u up ''you'' the one who's heavy
and every time is generous with satisfaction and huff

وين مارحت تلقى لك حبيب وعذول
وين ما كنت تلقى مثل ياسك..أمل

wherever you go u find someone who loves you and someone who dont
and wherever you are you will find who's hopeless like you and a hope ( he means as much hopeless you are you will find that much a hope too )

    ياطريق الترجي والوله والنحول
والله إني مشيتك... لين حد الثمل

hey the road of begging and passion and weakness
i swear i have walked through you ..until getting drunk limit

    مالقيت فوصولي لغير قبري وصول
ولا عرفت فحياتي مثل عرفي الجهل

i didn't find in my arrival only that i reach to my grave
and i didn't knew in my life something as much i knew the '' Ignorance''

لا تظن المسافر من يسوق الرحول
من وقف دون حلمه عاجزٍ ما رحل

don't think that the traveler is only who rides the camel
who stopped without dreaming is an incapable person who doesn't travel

وما لمخلوق منجا في الحذر والجفول
ما تصيب السهام ولا يطيش الاجل

and there is no haven in caution & fear
arrows will not hit neither would the term of life rash

    الليالي خوات.. مير منهي البتول
    والحوادث عشاير مير وين الفحل

nights are similar ...but at last there are maiden
and events are clans ..where is the Virility thou

ليلةٍ لك .. وليله بالفرح ما تطول
وليلةٍ من شهدها ذب راس الجبل

a night yours... and a night with happiness doesn't last
and a ''night'' who saw her even the top of the mountain would fall apart

أتذكّر في عين الشمس طفلٍ خجول
شالته في هدبها وقت لين إشتعل

I remember ..there was a shy kid in the eye of the sun
it'' the sun'' carried him in her eyelashes until it get burned

    أعجب الناس وهجه بالجدل والفضول
ما دروا عن ( جمال الجرح ) لين إندمل

people liked its glare with controversy/debate and curiousness
they didn't know about ( beauty of wound ) until it healed

والله اني كتبته في العطش والذبول
    لين غصنه تعدل بالورق وإعتدل

i swear i have written it in thirst and fading
until its branch stood straight with its leaves

والله إني كتبته لين قال الجهول
    والله إني كتبته وانتشى واحتفل

i swear i written it until the ignorance said
i swear i written it and then it felt high & partied

ما أتفه الشعر كانه هالحكي اللي نقول
لا تعدى المديح ولا تعدى الغزل

how trivial is poems as its like those words we speak
that doesn't Exceed over eulogy neither flirtation

    إن لثمت الزهور وصاحبتني الحقول
ماهقيت ان صافي الشهد عيب النحل

if i covered the flowers or if the fields become my friend
i dont think that the ''pure honey'' is the bee's flaw

مابقى في ضلوعي كود ريح معمول
وثوب شاشٍ عليه من الندامه وحل

there is no good wind left in my ribs
and a transparent cloth/dress that has a mud from remorse

ألتفت للطريق وما عبر منه زول
    في جفوني تزاحم عبرتي والوجل

i look at the path but nobody has crossed over it
In my eyelids a teardrop & Baffle are jostling

طلت يالعمر والا قلعتك لا تطول
    طاولتنا الليالي بالسهر والملل

you become too long my life or is your ending not going to be long
Nights were too long with being awake and boredom

إن تعبنا نحب ولا لقينا قبول
ما تسر الاماني .. ولا يفيد العذل

if we get tired of loving (being in love ) and we didnt find approval
wishes wont enjoy ... neither the blaming would benefit

لكن .. الله كريم وكل همٍ يزول
ما على الله بعيد .. ولا جفاك المحل

But ..allah is generous and every worry will disappear
there is nothing far from allah(that he cannot do), neither staleness will stay

كل أرضٍ تشيلك .. يا ثقيل الحمول
    وكل وقتٍ كريمٍ بالرضا والزعل

Every land would hold u up ''you'' the one who's heavy
and every time is generous with satisfaction and huff

i did my best /the song has strong and beautiful words indeed
but these type of songs are hard to translate because they are Bedouin poems
and some lines are more close to be as proverbs & comparisons that has wisdom.

Actually every line would need nearly a page to explain the main meaning behind it

    p.s* any correction/edition are welcome
    enjoy

    Maviii,

thank you so so much for translating the song for me! Yes, I have to agree that even with the translation it is hard to truly understand what the song is about.

Can someone explain the true meaning behind the words?? Also can someone please give the transliteration?

    Thanks!

sry for the lateness.. it just needs a lot of work.. and time .. and i have soo many things on my mind right now ..
    anyway here it is:

كل أرضٍ تشيلك يا ثقيل الحمول
    وكل وقتٍ كريمٍ بالرضا والزعل

Kil ar’6in tsheelik, ya thigeel el 7imool
    O kil wagtin kreemin bilre’6a wil za3al

Every land would hold u up ''you'' the one who's [/b]heavily burdened[/b]
and every time is generous with both satisfaction and sadness
(meaning oh you who carry heavy burdens, all the lands welcome you, and throughout life time is filled with satisfaction and letdowns)

وين مارحت تلقى لك حبيب وعذول
وين ما كنت تلقى مثل ياسك..أمل

    wain ma re7t tilga lik 7beeb o 3ithool
Wain ma kint tilga mithl ya2sik amal

wherever you go u find someone who loves you and you find yourself an enemy
and wherever you are you will find hope as much as your despair
(meaning everywhere you find friends, enemies, hopes, and despair [everyone has them])

    ياطريق الترجي والوله والنحول
والله إني مشيتك... لين حد الثمل

ya 6reeg eltiriji wil walah wil ni7ool
Walla ini mishaitek, lain 7ad elthamal

oh road of begging and yearning and weakness
i swear i have walked through you.. until I got drunk
(meaning, through living life only upon begging and yearning and weakness, it got me nowhere)

    مالقيت فوصولي لغير قبري وصول
ولا عرفت فحياتي مثل عرفي الجهل

    ma ligait f-w9oli l’3air gabri wi9ool
    Wala 3eraft f-7ayati mithl 3rfi eljahal

upon my arrival, I didn’t find anywhere other than arriving at my grave
and i didn't know about anything in my life as much as I knew about “Ignorance”
(meaning, on the path of begging, yearning and weakness mentioned above, it got me nowhere other than my own grave! And all I learned was ignorance)

لا تظن المسافر من يسوق الرحول
من وقف دون حلمه عاجزٍ ما رحل

la te’6en elmisafer min yisoog el7imool
    Min wigaf doon 7ilmeh 3ajezin ma re7al

don't think that the traveler is he who sets out to travel
he who sets out with no dream, is not able to leave

(meaning a traveler is he who travels with a purpose, with a point to reach to, with a dream, therefore he who has no purpose should not be called “a traveler”)

وما لمخلوق منجا في الحذر والجفول
ما تصيب السهام ولا يطيش الاجل

o ma lima5loog manja fi el7athar wil jifool
    Ma te9eeb elsiham o la yi6eesh al 2ajal

and there is no haven in caution & fear
arrows will not hit the target, and neither will life take another course
(meaning, he who lives only upon caution and fear will not get what they want in the end)

    الليالي خوات.. مير منهي البتول
    والحوادث عشاير مير وين الفحل

el layali 5awat.. mair manhi elbatool
    Wil7awadeth 3eshayer, mair wain elfa7al

the nights are like sister.. all the same.. but where is the virgin
And events are like clans… but where is the Man in them

(meaning, the nights pass by all similar just like sister, but where is the virgin (the special night amongst them).. and things the problems that happen at night are many.. but where is the man, meaning where is he who steps up and solves those problems)

ليلةٍ لك .. وليله بالفرح ما تطول
وليلةٍ من شهدها ذب راس الجبل

    laila lak.. o laila bilfar7a ma t6ool
O laila min shahadha thab ras eljabal

one night is yours… and another night doesn’t last with happiness
and a ''night'' who saw her even the top of the mountain would fall apart
(meaning one night is based upon your choice [happy], and another night comes which is ended by sadness, nothing goes your way all the time)

أتذكّر في عين الشمس طفلٍ خجول
شالته في هدبها وقت لين إشتعل

    atethakar fi 3ain elshams 6iflin 5ajool
Shalita fi hadabha wakt lain eshte3al

I remember ..there was a shy kid in the eye of the sun
it (the sun) carried him in her eyelashes until it lit up
(meaning, he remembers his beloved growing up under the sun, meaning she is from a tribe and was living in the desert., and the sun carried her all the way through until his beloved lit up just like the sun)

    أعجب الناس وهجه بالجدل والفضول
ما دروا عن ( جمال الجرح ) لين إندمل

a3jab elnas wahja bil jadal wil fe’6ool
    O madaraw 3an jamal eljar7 lain indimal

the strangest people are those who are intregued with controversy and curiosity
For, they don’t know the (beauty of the wound) when it is healed

(meaning, how strange are people, they occupy themselves just to serve and fulfil their curiosity, they don’t feel the sweetness and the beauty of a wound that has healed)

[i]والله اني كتبته في العطش والذبول
    لين غصنه تعدل بالورق وإعتدل

wallah ini kitabtah fil 3a6ash wil thibool
    Lain ‘3e9neh ti3adal wilwarag wi3tidal

i swear i have written it upon thirst and fading
until its branch stood straight with its leaves
(meaning, he wrote this poem when he was feeling tired and weak, having the urge to sleep, and he just kept writing until he got a full poem all lined up)

والله إني كتبته لين قال الجهول
    والله إني كتبته وانتشى واحتفل

wallah ini kitabtah lain gal eljihool
    Walla ini kitabtah wintisha wi7tifal

i swear i wrote it until the limit of ignorance
i swear i written it and then it felt high & partied
(meaning, he wrote this poem in explicitly none simple sense, it is not clear at all, for you have to read between the lines to understand what is being said, he wrote and wrote until he celebrated its ending)

ما أتفه الشعر كانه هالحكي اللي نقول
لا تعدى المديح ولا تعدى الغزل

    ma atfah elshi3r ka2ana hal7aki eli nigool
    La te3ada elmadee7 o la te3ada el’3azal

how trivial are poems, as they are like those words we speak
they don’t exceed praise, and neither do they exceed flirtation
(meaning, poems are as meaningless as the words we speak, and this poem is proof, for it does not exceed any sense of appraisal or flirting, it is just a conversation between a man and "love")

    إن لثمت الزهور وصاحبتني الحقول
ماهقيت ان صافي الشهد عيب النحل

in lithamt elzihoor o sahimatni el7gool
Ma hagait ena 9afi shahb 3aib el na7al

if i covered the flowers or if the fields become my friends
i don’t think that the ''pure honey'' is the bee's flaw
(meaning, the flowers and fields are representations of his family and friends, fields are filled with bad crops or weeds or insects and so on, and yet still something good comes out, such as his family and friends who work hard into getting what they aim for and as do the bees, they work hard, and hard flowers, but this shouldn’t be considered as a bad deed or as a fault, it’s something unique and special, hard work brings out the best of things, and the sweetest of things, such as pure honey)

****مابقى في ضلوعي كود ريح معمول
وثوب شاشٍ عليه من الندامه وحل

    ma biga fi ‘6loo3i kod ree7 m3amool
    O thoub shash 3alaih min elnadama wa7al

there is no good wind left in my ribs
and a transparent cloth/dress that has a mud from remorse
(meaning, that he sacrificed everything in the name of love, all he had left were his ragged clothes, and still did not give up)****

ألتفت للطريق وما عبر منه زول
    في جفوني تزاحم عبرتي والوجل

    altifit lil6reeg o ma 3ebar minh zol
Fi jifoni tza7im 3abrity el wajal

i look at the path but nobody has crossed over it
In my eyelids, there is a mass of my teardrops and my fear
(meaning, he looks at the path of love and sees that no one has crossed over, that everyone is still taking the coarse and fighting and sacrificing, and in his eyes are teardrops of sadness, of struggle, of power, and of fear, all mixed up)

طلت يالعمر والا قلعتك لا تطول
    طاولتنا الليالي بالسهر والملل

    6ilt yal 3umr wila gl3tk la t6ool
6awelatna el layali bilsahar wil malal

oh life, will you prolong? or is your end not far away
    long nights pass by
with being awake and with boredom

(meaning, he is talking to life, asking whether the end be near or not, for he is still suffering and yet not giving up, and the he states that the nights pass by either with boredom or by being deprived of sleep (thinking, struggling, fighting) in the name of love)

إن تعبنا نحب ولا لقينا قبول
ما تسر الاماني .. ولا يفيد العذل

in te3abna n7ib wala lgaina gbool
Ma tesir el amani, o la yifeed el3athal

If we get tired of loving (being in love ) and we didn’t find approval
wishes don’t bring joy ... and blaming is of no good

لكن .. الله كريم وكل همٍ يزول
ما على الله بعيد .. ولو جفاك المحل

Lakin.. Allah Kareem o kil hamin yizool
    Ma 3ala Allah bi3eed.. o lo jifak elma7al

But.. Allah is generous and every worry eventually disappears
There is nothing far from Allah (that he cannot do, or a place he cannot be in), even if the place no longer wants you
(meaning, God is generous, eventually in the end things ill turn out just fine, even if you are no longer welcomed “referring to the first verse when he says that you are welcomed in all places”, so even if you are no longer welcomed, still God is with you)

Gole Yas , you are AMAZING!!!!!! Thank you so so much for doing this for me. I appreciate the time and effort you took to translate this as well as trying to explain what every line from the song meant! I know it must have took *ALOT* of your time lol. The dialect that is used in song is saudi 5aleeji?

I'm currently studying fus7a Arabic, and trust me when I say it's alot of work lol. However ,Inshallah, my goal one day is to actually learn the 5aleeji dialect. I wish there were more native 5aleeji speakers so I can pick up on the dialect. Any recommendations on this subject ?

Btw, I'm not sure if you know this or not but your name Gole (we spell it gul/gool) in Hindi/Urdu means flower. The word gulab would mean rose . It's a very pretty name you have !

    Thanks Again!!!

hello dear, thank you sweety.. we r all here to help ..
The dialect is Bedoin.. its actually a poem so its written in a very sophisticated metaphoric way..
and sweety, 5aleeji differs from country to another, words are different, dialects are different, even within one country.. so you have to live in the country in order to catch up lol ..
and yes, Gole, gOl, means flower in persian too .. and i am of persian roots, thats why i chose the name gole Yas, yas is the name of the flower.. my name is not actually gole yas, its just a nikname here =D i just love the name

Oh I knew that 5aleeji differs from country to country , I would just like to get a general idea of the dialect first lol. But you are absolutely right, you have to live in a country to actually learn the dialect properly! Inshallah, one day I will get the chance to study the dialect in a 5aleeji country , it's very beautiful!

And yes I know what Gul-e-yas is, It means jasmine flower :-)
