give me one last kiss goodbye
give me one last kiss goodbye
before i turn and break down and cry
give me one last kiss goodbye
you wanna go but you don't know
i must concede that i cant show
that i still want you around
i wanna stay close to you
be part of everything you do
but i know i'll let you down
now i want to stay together
want you here forever
i'm too scared to let you know
cant you hear me calling
oh don't heed their warnings
how can i just let you go?
its just a little too much
a little too late
give me one last kiss goodbye
give me one last kiss goodbye
before i turn and break down and cry
give me one last kiss goodbye
i know that i've lost it all
i took the pride,i took the fall
and now im all alone
and as i stand here crucified
it's like somebody i loved died
i've got the blood on my hands
now my insecurities
have brought this to its knees
how can i live with what ive done
i believed you to be lying
so i killed what was dying
now i know that i was wrong
its just a little too much
a little too late
give me one last kiss goodbye
give me one last kiss goodbye
before i turn and break down and cry
give me one last kiss goodbye
i saw the leaves on the trees
i saw the leaves on the trees
i saw the leaves on the trees with disease
but i didn't know what it means
i saw the leaves on the trees with disease
but i didn't know what it means
give me one last kiss
give me one last kiss
give me one last kiss goodbye
give me one last kiss
give me one last kiss
give me one last kiss goodbye
I like the song's sound and the singer too. My only complaint is that Nikki too often repeats phrasing exactly the same, not varying it much. For example, ending a line with such a strong double syllable (it is too distracting from her voice, which is good):
She does a little variation toward the end, but by then the same strong phrasing has been sung too many times. Same with singing the phrasing of the refrain so much the same every time. If she even broke up the song, singing a cappella softly . . . then the next time more poignant, etc., . . . it wouldn't "beat" so much into the head of the listener and would showcase her voice--which, as I said, is very good!
......
P.S. Thank you very much for sharing this good singer, and please do not be discouraged by my critique of her song! If she were a mediocre or bad singer, I wouldn't have commented. But she is truly good . . . and I couldn't help but to bring out the one thing which might turn others' ears away from her. She deserves to be heard!
