please help me!!!

This is driving me absolutely crazy! I know there is a song that exists from anywhere in the late 80's to the early 90's done by more of a single artist rather than a whole band. It is a ballad. The song is sung by a male. I'm thinking for some reason like richard marx or bryan addams. The song, i believe is the name of a woman, maybe. It is a sad song. Maybe about her dying or some kind of regrets. The video is kind of dark, I remember water maybe the woman is in the water, Drowning? I also think I remember the womans eyes opening under water. I am not thinking of mary janes last dance by tom petty. If you have any idea please help me!!!! Thank you!!!!

thank you sooo much for trying to help me out but i checked out "where the wild roses grow" and it wasn't the one. I'm starting to think i'm going mad. I can't believe I can't remember any useful info about it. I think the singer was wearing a black trenchcoat like thing.

It does sound like it - I'm sure the video was black and white and the only colour was a red rose ....but I'll keep looking
