This is one of the new songs they just started playing this month. IMO it sounds like a country/cajun Bruce Hornsby (although the artist is really British). The only problem is that the lyrics don't match what you wrote.

I heard this song at 8Pm just before x-mas 2007, DMI started providing service in Jan 08, MUZAC was probably the provider but they have not been responding. The band had accordian, fiddle, guitar and a Piano and the lyric I posted was in the Hook

Thanks for the response and david grey was a pleasure to listen to

2007? You should have mentioned that right from the start. I know Kohl's songs going back to 2005, so I'll have to think about this one. In the meantime, here's a song from around that time that you might enjoy:

"Feels Like Christmas" by Cyndi Lauper

I couldn't think of any songs with the lyrics you posted. I do know that several of John Mellencamp's songs were playing then. These come closest to your description based on what I can remember.

    "Paper In Fire"
    "Check It Out"
    "Cherry Bomb"

That's the best I can do right now. Something might come to me later, or you might think of something more to add to help me find the song.
