    Default What is this song

In 1967 I heard a song with the following lyrics "He's gone gone gone away" and also had lyrics I think that had "my dreams depart". This song was by a female artist or a group. Can anyone tell me the name of the song or the group. If so please email me at garry@janikltd.com'
    Thanks,

I tried the following website and got hundreds of songs and/or albums with the word "Gone" in the title. However, the site gives you a quick link to the links for each song.

    search.lyrics.astraweb.com

When I tried the Allmusic.com website, I got

    "She's Gone Away" (1968)
    Mason Williams

I did not find a late 60's song with the title "He's Gone"

Sorry I couldn't be more help

    Hi garrybeep~

How about this one? It was the second single, of 'The Brothers Four' called "Greenfields," released in January 1960, hit #2 on the pop charts.

    Song: Greenfields
    Artist: The Brothers Four

Once there were green fields kissed by the sun
Once there were valleys where rivers used to run
Once there were blue skies with white clouds high above
Once they were part of an everlasting love
We were the lovers who strolled through green fields

Green fields are gone now, parched by the sun
Gone from the valleys where rivers used to run
Gone with the cold wind that swept into my heart
Gone with the lovers who let their dreams depart
Where are the green fields that we used to roam

I'll never know what made you run away
How can I keep searching when dark clouds hide the day
I only know there's nothing here for me
Nothing in this wide world, left for me to see

Still I'll keep on waiting until you return
I'll keep on waiting until the day you learn
You can't be happy while your heart's on the roam
You can't be happy until you bring it home
Home to the green fields and me once again

You are the second requestor with a "Gone, Gone, Gone" theme...

I found lyrics for Carl Perkins' (1979) and The Everly Brothers" (1965) versions of "Gone, Gone Gone" but they do not exactly match the lyrics you posted. Tommy James & the Shondells also did "Gone, Gone, Gone" on the "I Think We Are Alone Now" album (1967) but I can not find lyrics or a download.

A search for the title "Gone" turned up 500+ artists including Della Reese (1962).

    Sorry I wasn't more help.
