"This Town"

Uh
On point like thimble
Like to recollect when life was so simple
No in between it was all on print yo
But simple rarely lasts
Onto my next endeavor but first I'm glancin' at the past

I like to look outside my window
As I drive through my town somethin' like a symbol
Sound like instrumental
Cuz these years I filled in the words wordsmith like stencil
All my old friends opt out
I went from near high school drop out
To college magna cum laude
Still rep the street though no prep no latte
But feel as if I lost a little bit of myself
Lost touch with all my friends they weren't friend very much
And I put the weed down put the board on the shelf
Saw my old homie yesterday he said damn man you changed
Nah homie just that you stayed the same
See I outgrew this town but you got tamed
Your frustration nailed you down but me I broke out the cage
So I pour out some Henne
On this town's sidewalks right where I walked
In the spot almost caught by this town's pig cops
For all memories past
For good things that didn't last
For everyone that showed me love
Everyone else can kiss my ***

But before I board my plane
Lemme drive through my town again
One last time for old time's sake
Drove through so fast see rarely hit breaks
So I missed a whole lot to get where I'm goin'
Where the lights never dim and the show's always showin'
And this old town used to feel big now it's shut down
Once where I lived soon where I ain't around
