Default rock video in "Little Sweetheart" (1989)

This is a rock video that is excerpted in the 1989 movie "Little Sweetheart". The video is played at two different places in the movie, the first time in two separate fragments, one with dialog, the second time in a continuous span in the background with dialog in the foreground. Here are all three excerpts from the movie that I pasted together in a single mp3 file...

You can see the actual video fragment of the first part on YouTube at...

It shows a man and woman dressed in black, spiky outfits, dancing wildly, and hugging each other. The song sounds like it's in a minor key, and has a hot guitarist playing fast scales and Van Halen style hammered effects and vibrato bar effects, and the excerpted part seems to be the lead solo for that song.

The video itself and the IMDb movie soundtrack information seem to be incomplete and name extremely obscure songs, some of which I don't believe even exist, especially since I found other errors in other information in the credits.
There are a number of people interested in this movie's soundtrack, including myself, so anyone who can help to identify this song (and ideally others) in the movie will be helping the public, and I will post that information on IMDb myself if someone here can identify any of the music and artists.

This may help. IMDb lists the soundtrack of the movie:

No, sorry, that's of no help whatsoever, since the info I posted here already exceeds what is on IMDb, and that song is not listed there.

Hi simnia, shortly after your first post i tried a little digging until i saw your imdb post which is kind of 'in depth', so i was rather intimidated...

At best i can only offer two things you may have settled already :

    1) George Doering, super musician (guitarist) is listed as 'musician' for the film (he has participated in 825 film titles under various capacities). I would venture that he can play just about any style under the sun.

    2) Lalo Schifrin, on his official site under : Composer Credits-Feature Films (schifrin.com) and
also here with slightly different wording and identification as : writings Film Music:Little Sweetheart, Nelson Entertainment, 1988. (encyclopedia.com)

That's very good information, thanks, since somehow I missed both those names in my searches. I remember the name Lalo Schifrin as the artist of some pop song from around 1968 whose title I looked up earlier this year.

That rock video whose music I posted may have been custom-made for the film, but that seems like an awful lot of work for such a short musical fragment when they could have used just an existing video at much lower cost. For example, the film also has an inserted clip from a Three Stooges film in a very similar context. Also, that's a fairly hot guitarist, who must be known to guitar fans somewhere, so it's unlikely a run-of-the-mill studio musician.

Thanks for your efforts. I think I'll post that country music fragment from the film here, too, just in case.
