Default Grouping vowels based on their sound ...

These are THE ONLY vowel-sounds in Greek

    Capital vowels Lowercase vowels Pronunciation
    Α α A-a like in cat, approve
    Η, Ι, Υ, ΕΙ, ΟΙ, ΥΙ η, ι, υ, ει, οι, υι I-i like in lips, tip
Ε, ΑΙ ε, αι E-e like in bed, men
    Ο, Ω ο, ω O-o like in top, pop
ΟΥ ου Oo-oo like in doom, taboo

In Greek the sounds of letters DO NOT differ from word to word!
Orthography (or spelling) of every word is mainly a matter of it's origin.
In other words, the way every word is written help us to investigate it's ETYMOLOGY

Lightbulb Finally there is this usefull link

Some days ago I was asked by a member to record the pronunciation of some phrase.

After some search I found this link to an engine -> http://www.oddcast.com/home/demos/tt...le.php?sitepal

    But there are some...
RULES for having the best results by using it.

    1. Choose Greek and ONLY the voice of Afroditi (avoid other voices !!!)
    2. Add small text-phrases in the text-tab. Fewer words -> best result
    3. Use FREQUENTLY commas.
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"
