Whole Again
I had a six hour car ride that I had to fill with something. Hence the following:
Staring out the window,
Gazing at the rain,
A old worn-out cliché,
For heart-ache and pain,
But here you are, sitting,
About to go insane,
Wondering if you’ll ever,
Be truly happy again,
In your head, softly,
That annoying refrain,
The one that laments,
That things aren’t the same,
You know that crying,
Is completely in vain,
But the feelings within you,
Are too hard to tame,
Yours have grown stronger,
As his began to wane,
Someday you’ll wake up,
A new heart, new brain,
And thank whatever,
That you managed to restrain,
Yourself from succumbing,
Under his reign,
But for now, you’re sitting,
Looking at the rain,
Waiting for your heart,
To be whole again.
"If you were me, then I'd be you, and if I were you, I'd hide somewhere faraway..."
