I heard this song lots of times while I was in the UK a while back, but never knew who the artist was. It was a country pop cross over genre and the artist might have been British..
I would appreciate it greatly if anyone have any knowledge of it...

Thanks for responding, that was a female artist and it would have been around 1994 or there about. The lyrics have stayed with me all this time and would so much like to hear it again...

The lyrics matches and it's a female singer but not your assumed era. Most likely it's the song but maybe there's a more recent cover existing or you err
