    The Silent Echo

    Long ago lived a man
    A man unlike any man
    He was so strong
    And yet so wrong

He lived his life behind a knife
Stabbing at anything that gave him a fight
The man was so blind that he couldn't even see
The very people he made bleed

He was so blind, in fact
That he killed everyone who had his back
He did not trust or care
    But rather he would dare

And set fire across the land
In thought that he could bring about reprimand
Instead he fell into a land of death
And forever will you feel his breath

And be reminded of the pain
    From a life long slain
    For he saw the desolates
    Rise from its decadence

    He was the silent echo
The very man who never let go
And even now you can feel his pain
    Echo through the age-old rain

    The Silent Echo II

Do you hear the echo my friend
It's slithering it's way past every bend
Can you feel it echo within
Voices cradle a life of sin

The shadows are creeping across the ground
    Waiting for something profound
    Every scream, every shout
    Can be felt throughout

    Bellowing through blood soaked walls
    Echoing down age old halls
Nothing can be said, nothing can be done
For life of tyranny has just begun

    We cry out for help
Only to be left with our pointless yelp
This world is set in stone
    And only one can dethrone

    The evil that has flown
Over a sea of endless drone
    Of people who are lost
    Stuck in an everlasting cost

The darkness echoes through the night
    Releasing fire and it's fright
Everyone listens, but no one can hear
The silent echo that they all fear

A rain storm comes up over the sky
Pouring rain as tension is high
The echo bellows through the rain
    Bringing darkness and it's pain

The people fall to the bitter ground
Salting the earth with endless mound
    The man so mortally stood
    Looking over deaths hood

You can barely hear him speak
    To the surviving meek
    As the silent echo
    Would never let go

    The Pain

When it rains you can feel the pain
Washing away the souls of the slain
Reminding me of what could have been
As I stand amongst the surviving men

I wondered aloud asking them all
Do we diserve to live while others fall?
Many said yes others said no
I was uncertain so decided to go

As I left the salted earth of death
The voices of the fallen wasted away
I could hear them take their last breath
As they fell into the arms of decay

The further I went the louder they became
There long gone voices still ringing in my head
They filled me with bountiful shame
I could never sleep I would just lie awake in bead

I soon grew so sick of the pain
That I took a gun and placed it to my brain
I thought for a moment should I be slain?
And fall into the arms of decay

    After long minutes of wonder
I placed my finger upon the trigger
Blowing pieces of my head all over the place
I had finally lost the inevitable race

I now lay in the arms of decay
Wasting away every time it rains
The next time you feel my pain
    Deny the shame
    Over come your pain
And realize that all must be slain

    The Penitent

Even now when it rains you can feel the pain
Still echoing through the age old rain
Reminding the world of what could have been
As they stand amongst the dying men

Such a day left in vain
What we have is left slain
    People can’t rebuild the past
So why not make it last

In the salted Earth of death
You can still feel my breath
    Crawl across the ground
Slithering as it casts no sound

I can still feel the people walk overhead
They cry and wimpier about a life long dead
Why do they waste their time?
When they could be drinking a fine wine

I feel like I owe the Planet
Some news that may cause panic
Of the desolates of which I have seen
    Meandering through the darkest scene

I have grown tired of the pain
And now I must escape from the rain
Up from this ground I shall come
And bring news of a plan left unsung

    The Harbinger

Even now in this day in age
The world is still locked in its cage
So corrupt that it can’t even see
The pain that makes it bleed

I warned the world many times over
That the pain is only growing stronger
Soon enough the desolates will slither in
And cause the whole world to reprimand

    My word you must heed
    Be weary of the seed
For it will plant itself within
And give you visions of the end

    I ask again and again
Will the people ever bring about reprimand?
And fully look within their minds
And cast out the seeds of lies

A world of no life will grab hold
And place you into a life of mold
The fingers of those above you
    Will twist and bend you

Until your mind is wrapped in twine
Nothing will help you to escape the time
For you will no longer be alive
But rather a figment of a lie

I warned you all in my cowardly fall
That I had seen the darkness crawl
I told you the pain would arise
In a day when you will be surprised

    Hold out your hand
And be given your last stand
    The darkness is flowing
    The desolates are coming

    The Inception

You can hear the voice of a harbinger’s calls
Still bellowing through blood soaked walls
    Telling the people to run
As there is nothing left but a bullet and a gun

If you listen carefully you will hear
    Voices calling out in fear
They all try to run away
But the darkness is here to stay

    The severed tormented souls
Sweat blood as they crawl across the coals
This world has burned to the ground
Now all that is left is death’s sound

    Echoing through the night
    As darkness casts no light
The wrenched souls begin to melt
As their eyes begin to wilt

Dragging their bodies across the burnt ground
As their skin boils to levels profound
Nothing can be said or done
As the desolates has just begun

    The world grows increasingly hot
Causing their brains to begin to pour like snot
The liquefied brains paint the street
Be careful not to slip watch your feet

You can still hear their teeth chatter
Even when they no longer matter
Their long gone voices still singing
As for they will forever be left ringing

The void of darkness is flowing
Like a river gushing in the morning
    Eroding away the old world
In preparation for the new world

I can see the desolates as it forms
    Across the ground like storms
    It grows stronger and stronger
As the evil rises in wonder

What can it be the world asked
    As everyone gasped
    The darkness is everywhere
    And we are going nowhere

The desolates rises with its six arms
Its six tails acting as forearms
Destroying what is left of the world
As its six eyes find things to be hurled

The sound of the desolates is rising
As I approach the ledge I can feel my heart sinking
As I look across the Desolate ground
Searching for the answer I have not found

    The Desolates

I look across the desolate ground
Searching for the answer I have not found
The void of darkness covers the Earth
Depicting an evil on the verge of birth

I stand here waiting for the return
So that I can escape the inevitable burn
Of a world that was once protected
    Now left to inception

The seas churn with powerful might
    Unleashing darkness and the fright
Everyone runs but no one can hide
The evil in the world will no longer be denied

Wars rage on seeking no end
The rulers of the Earth attempt to mend
What is left of the scarce remains
In thought to bring an end to the pain

But nothing they did could stop there descend
Into the boundless pit that no one can comprehend
But one day the void of darkness was set aside
And the evil one was punished for his pride

Locked up for a thousand years in an inescapable void
A millennial rein on a heavenly Earth at last enjoyed
The desolates of the Earth had finally been refilled
And the answer to my longing question had finally been fulfilled

    The Redemption

They say if you listen closely you will hear
All of the voices crying out in fear
Bellowing through the age old rain
Reminding the world of the endless pain

Even now in our abundant fall
You can still hear voices crawl
Across a ground lined with death
A cool chill comes from there breath

But nothing is said nothing is done
For a life purgatory has just begun
But in this purgatory heaven cannot be sought
For no sinner gets his second thought

For it is too late to ask for help
As there voices have become an endless yelp
Nothing can be done for the wretched souls
Now we must bury deaths endless coals

    And somehow find an answer
To a question that spreads like cancer
Across the surface of our souls
How will we put out these burning coals?

And find that life is more than death
And that light can lie within our depth
    And illuminate the darkness within
Casting out the shadows of fallen men

The story of which you have seen
Is one painted from the darkest of scenes
But this scene lies within ones head
Grown from the seed of what is dead

    The desolates lies within man
It's the void of darkness we cannot understand
It echoes through our lonely heart
As we can do nothing but fall apart

The harbinger warned you all in his cowardly fall
That he had seen darkness crawl
Instead of listening you ignored him
Leading to the end of a world full of sin

Now you must face your judgment day
And be told of all those sins that you must pay
Hold on tight to your seat
For you will be cast down to a world beneath

And venture off into a land of grief
Where all that follows you is your false belief
In a world that you thought was better
Than a world where you live forever

Forever will you feel that silent echo
For it will never let go
You will always feel it echo within
Because voices cradle a life of sin

This doesn’t have to be you my friend
This doesn't have to be the end
You can find a way to fill this emptiness
And gain a world of endless bliss

I had some requests to put the entire The Silent Echo series as one thread so I did. Some of the poems maybe different than orinignally should only be miner stuff. Plus I will be going over everything again and changing anything that needs to be adjusted in order to better fit the poems.

John: What happened? I KNOW I posted a thank you message to you for doing this! Anyway, I certainly appreciate it. Now the readers of your poetry can come here for this entire series. Indeed they need to be together! As for refining--I applaud you for that. I often do that several times after I post lyrics! Glad to know I'm not alone.

Congratulations on this series! You've had quite a few visits to this thread already!

I know that it's way too long to be made into a song, but after reading just a little bit i started wishing that i could Roy Khan sing this with Kamelot...this is sooo great, i love it!

read some of these lyrics - http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/mu...ot-lyrics.html - and if you have not heard Kamelot, listen to 1 or 2 of their older songs, with Roy Khan's distinctiive voice (he's not with them anymore) and see if you get what i mean...maybe it's just me but i think that this poem set has just that kind of metal-opera texture....this is really good!!

    Johnb31,

I received a "like" from "curiosity_kills_the_cat" for my comment to you on "The Desolates" which is posted separately. Since my comment included all the poems which came before (as well as) "The Desolates," I wanted to repeat the comment here on this "whole thread." Thank you for putting them altogether.

After reading the poems above, ending with "The Desolates," my comment was:
    ...................

Johnb31: Excellent ending! At at last we get to the truth. Evil will not/cannot conquer good. The One Great God can never be overtaken by Satan (Satan who, afterall, toward the beginning was one of His angelic creations--the first One to fall!)!

Again, your poetry is great! As for me, I will not ask for more dark stuff of this particular nature. This is quite an insightful, creative set of poems, telling a fantasy which some may fear is reality. (Afterall, is not the world in the clutches of Satan already according to the scriptures; plus we need only turn on the TV news, the computer, or read the paper to see the extent of evil influences--which, by the way, will not be tolerated for much longer!)

Anyway, your series of creative poems is very good. Your writing is good. Your rhyming/poetry is good! What can I say? You are a natural. What story will you tell next? Or what wonderful expression of the English language will you delight us with? You are an artist who paints word stories.

Thank you for sharing your works. Really, you are fantastically gifted. Continue to use your gift well!!

Thank you so much for your comment once again it really means a lot to me that you feel this way about my writing. I don't see it as all my doing I believe that God has given me this gift and is using me in some way. Maybe I don't effect a lot of people quite get but I believe that it will soon. The Desolates is getting published after I won a competition and many friends and family have emailed it to their friends and they have emailed it to theirs and so on. Im just so happy to see that this writing is reaching the eyes of so many. In these dimly lit times I search for a reason to keep writing to keep fighting the ever growing evil of this world. You and many others give me that reason and I thank you. As long as there are people in need I will continue to write.

Ah, I'm so glad you did this. Because I never knew which ones were in the series.
They are all so beautiful baby. Each one has such a deep meaning. And each one uncovers something new.
It's like Christmas morning reading all of this xD
