"Door ajar" I wrote indeed in a spirit of dark humour. (you write "humor", what's correct, Frankie? )

By the way: Charles Dickens is one of my favourite writers. "Oliver Twist" being one of my favs. I have read his complete works by now and am ready to sail into Bernhard Shaw
Yes, love Dickens. "Great Expectations," especially, but also really liked the (looooong) story of "Martin Chuzzlewitt." I've liked all Dickens in one way or another.

Humor/humour - Most Europeans prefer the British "-our" words. Those who learned English in America, sometimes prefer the shorter English version of spelling. The first spelling is correct in the U.S.; the second for British English. Take your pick!

The novel I mentioned was one of my recent personal "discoveries," free classics from Amazon.com for Kindle. "The Forsaken Inn - A Novel" by Anna Katherine Green. Here's the "review" link, to which I also contributed:

    It is also free online.

my neighbour is really a rare species bird
she listens to silence not speaking a word
she eats through her books like a rat through the junk
she likes emo looks but she hates to hear punk

she never goes dancing, but aerobics:yes
it's good for the line, she says, better for stress
she really regrets moneytrees are just tales
and to tiny fish she prefers giant whales

    my neighbor

Good character sketch (a' la modern Charles Dickens) of a woman with a narrow life. I prefer to say "claustrophobic" life, but that can be taken two different ways!

Thanks, Frankie! Yes indeed, it's to be taken with a bit of sarcastic salt though

By the way "Frisco" is the old Finnish way to say San Francisco. It's mainly used in old songs

Thanks, Rickey! And the beat goes on!
Somehow strange, but it was Frankie and Zakynthos who convinced me to start putting some of it here.
I don't regret and all feedback is always welcome.

but we don't need a key
    do you understand me?

    let's use bodylanguage
will you show me your hands
    there's no need to hurry
    we are just making friends
    the timeclock stands still
    there's nowhere a fence
    do you understand me?

when the heart of a lover
    is broken in two
    when the windows are broken
    and there isn't a view
will you sit down beside me
    drink a cuppa tea too?
    if you understand me?

    PS: I made a compositon
but here you can't hear it unfortunately.
    Hopefully one of these days

These words are so profound. Either way, as a poem, as a song, they are worthy of acclaim.

Can't shake the feeling these words are cryptic, hiding a message in their core...

Anyway, the line "she listens to silence not speaking a word" jumped out loudly @ me. Like it. Felt it. Many times.
