My Father

A Hollywood screenwriter was doing a script about drag racing and wanted a couple of songs. I submitted this from the standpoint of the driver's daughter. Being anti-nascar because it is a waste of gas, this shows the extent to which I will go to try to get a song out.

My father found passion
Racing funny cars
My father had courage
Reached for the stars
He died one night
In a ball of fire
Before 10,000 fans

But never understood
She called it an obsession
