The Key

I’m feeling out of my depth,
But I think I’m starting to like it,
Though I’m going to such lengths,
To keep myself away,

My brain is pleading but I can’t,
I refuse to accept the end,

I can’t help but start to fall,
Into the darkness of your mind,
Trying to answer your call,
I’m scared of what I’ll find,
But my heart’s encased in iron and stone,
Until we find the key,
I guess I’m sleeping here alone,

Scars of mine still red and raw,
I seem to forget them with you,
And nothing scares me more,
Than the idea I could love,

Pretending I wasn’t afraid,
