Default Thread per la Musica Italiana

I've always been wanting to see a common Mediterranean thread here that would gather and present what's best in my beloved region. But since almost every language region has its separate thread here, established for the presentation of its music the only one that was left without its national thread was Italy.

Alora, here it is - the Italian music national thread.

Per favore, visit and share your Italian fascinations here.

Rules are simple and not too stiff I hope:

    1. Either the song or the singer has to be Italian.
    2. Covers of Italian hits done in other languages - are more than welcome.
    3. Co-operation of Italian and Non-Italian Artists - as above.
    4. Say a few words about your choice and will make the thread lively and interesting to the participants.
    5. Chit-chat inspired by and connected with the songs - is unavoidable and thus allowed but try to keep it up to minimum.
    6. Linguistic explanations, translations of lyrics - expected and appreciated.
    7. This thread is dedicated to our dear Moderator Layla, who is a great fan of Italian music and who was the inspiration behind this thread along with Enoo, who opened the francophone thread!
    8. Let's make it a sunny and optimistic thread, insieme!

    ANDIAMO!!!!

Here's one of Italian's greatest cultural exports, Tiziano Ferro in one of his best-known songs.

I guess everybody must know by now that this is one of my fav Italian songs and perhaps the only song of Laura Pausini that I am able to listen to

I can't imagine my baby thread without this forza duet 'cos it includes another great person who's done a lot to boost recognition for la lngua italiana accross the World.

Laura Pausini con Lara Fabian - "La Solitudine"

This one above is my alarm signal

Oh I'm so happy! Italian is, for me, a languages lover, the most beautiful language. Nowadays, Italia can be poor but it is rich in culture! Tiziano exudes talent!

Questo dvd è qualcosa di molto buono!!!

I've always liked this guy and his music as well as this video. Since cosa is pronounced as koza, which in Polish means goat, many radio DJs translated the title as "The most beautiful goat" LOL

Come to think of it, Eros has a somewhat goaty voice, no?

    @Patrizia,
    Thanks for posting!!!

Your praise for the Italian language is surprising to me because your own mother tongue is like a well polished gem itself and also because of all the Romance languages Italian has always been my least favourite.
But one thing is certain - it was born to be sung!!!

Finalmente, your ability to always post a better song than I did is getting me arrabbiato!!! E que pane molto molto fresco!!!!

Nek is one of my favorite artists when it comes to pop rock. The album that includes this hit, Laura non c'è, "Lei, gli amici e tutto il resto" (1997), takes me back to my childhood. I got the album shortly after it went out and I was always listening to it. He is one of those artists who never disappoint. Very good music

    Tastes, Paul

I don't know but most of these well known artists, like Eros and Laura, always remind me of my childhood. My parents worked in Switzerland for some years and when I first went there I remember to hear it a lot of times. Eros is top! No goaty voice

@Pawel: It is highest time for Patrícia now to open up a thread of PORTUGUESE songs, the Mediterranean country forgotten!!
The past two years scores of Portuguese artists have been brought forward on different threads, now her moment has come .
    Patrícia, o b r i g a d o....

@ all amici di musica italiana: there is a lot of fascinating modern Italian music and it's wortwhile to be posted here, as Italians are crazy about it and the Volare and O Sole Mio type of songs - as historical as they are- have become more a matter of tourism and international congresses Music gnerations move forward and the "classics" will always remain "the classics".

@ Pawel: mille grazie per tutto . E molto bene per visitare qui!

Sung in a Napolitano accent, this is a trademark of Pino Daniele, who was born in Napoli and today is popular all over Italia, where his concerts are attended by huge crowds. Last year I was there together with another 120.000 people.
He has also been performing in the USA , Switzerland and some other countries.....
He has a huge repertoire and an excellent band too.

Molto bene! Il Ametisto has already posted it but let me offer a female version of it. I shall always affiliate this song with my late brother , with whom we shared a lot of music passions. I miss him very much now that I'm at what seems to be the height of my Turkish Frenzy 'cos I feel that he would share it, too!
