Default Help.. Song stuck in my head

Normally i dont have a problem finding songs that get stuck in my head but this time my usual sources are drawing a blank..

the song starts off slow then speeds up after the first 4 lines sung by a male late 70's early 80's.

the only lyrics stuck in my head are:

I'm thinking about when I was a sailor
Spent my life on the 7 seas

    but it could be:

Im thinking about my life as a sailor
lived my life on the 7 seas

any help would be very much appreciated. This is driving me nuts

    Thanks

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but this song has some similarities to the lyrics repeating in your head! It's from the Star Wars Album - don't know the artist - hope this helps!

    The Sailor Song

    You could heal me,
    You could heal me,
You could heal me, make me feel better, make me feel better
    than I do today,
You could heal me, make me feel wanted, make me feel wanted
    in a special way,

I've got a set of problems in my,
I've got a set of problems and their mine,
(But a problem shared, is a problem halved,
A problem I rather not have),
Oh won't you please call me,
You could heal me, make me feel better, make me feel better
    than I do today,
You could heal me, make me feel wanted, make me feel wanted
    in a special way,

Sometimes the medicine, don't seem to help,
Only your secret love, could bring me back to to hell,
(I don't wanna put any pressure on you,
But you could make me feel so good inside),
    I want you beside me,
You could heal me, make me feel better, make me feel better
    than I do today,
You could heal me, make me feel wanted, make me feel wanted
    in a special way,

There once was a salty sailor, who sailed the seven seas,
And though he feared the ocean, his true love was Japanese,
And all the oceans frightened him, he kept his fear inside,
No matter how it scared him, he had to be by her side,
And I have to be by her side, And I have to be by your side,
You could heal me, make me feel better, make me feel better
    than I do today,
You could heal me, make me feel wanted, make me feel wanted
    in a special way,
    (musical interlude).

Just ran across this one and I'm pretty sure this would be the one! Good song! I love everything Loggins & Messina did---as well as Kenny's solo stuff, let me know if this is it:

    Song: Vahevala
Artist: Loggins & Messina (Kenny Loggins/Jim Messina)
Written by: Jim Messina & Dave Loggins (Kenny's cousin)

I'm thinking about when I was a sailor
Spent my time on the open seas
When we'd stay off the coast of Jamaica
    I'd secretly steal ashore
    The natives were waiting for
The boy with the lazy soul
    To sing with the sailor

    [Chorus:]
    Vahevala, homeless sailor
    Vahevala, homeward sail away
    Vahevala, homeless sailor
    Vahevala, homeward sail away
    Every evening I'd be gone
Back on board by break of dawn

I'm thinking about the nights in Jamaica
Pretty girls dancin' here and there
Stole a keg and now I'm drunk as a sailor
    The captain he don't know
    Where Billy he done go
But I'm singing with native girls
    The songs of a sailor

    [Chorus]

Every night in Jamaica I'd sing with the lady
And drink with the men till the morning appear
Healthy sunshine is fresh on my face
As the songs of the night puts the ring in my ear
