    Question irish song? drinking song?

    Looking for a song I used to have, can't remember who it's by or the name of it. some lyrics include the following;

and I asks me wife and I says to her....(something about a coat or hat or pipe depending on the verse)
You're drunk, you're drunk you silly ol coot, you're drunk as drunk can be....

    all help is appreciated.
    I can't find it anywhere.

This is? It's called "Seven Drunken Nights"

As I went home on Monday night as drunk as drunk could be
I saw a horse outside the door where my old horse should be
Well I called me wife and I said to her will you kindly tell to me
Who owns that horse outside the door where my old horse should be
Ah you're drunk you're drunk ya silly old fool still you cannot see
That's a lovely sow that me mother sent to me
Well it's many a day I've travelled a hundred miles or more
But a saddle on a sow sure I never saw before

And as I went home on Tuesday night as drunk as drunk could be
I saw a coat behind the door where my old coat should be
Well I called me wife and I said to her will you kindly tell to me
Who owns that coat behind the door where my old coat should be
Ah you're drunk you're drunk you silly old fool still you cannot see
That's a woolen blanket that me mother sent to me
Well it's many a day I've travelled a hundred miles or more
But buttons on a blanket sure I never saw before

    (+ a few more verses)....

There is also a 50's blues song called "cabbage head" which is apparently a take off on it, using the same melody. Ruth Brown, Professor Longhair and others were known to popularize it by performing it live. Ruth's recorded version goes something like this:

Saturday night when I came home, tired as I can be
I saw a pair of shoes outside of my door,
where I know my shoes are supposed to be
I said to my man, my darling man, Honey please explain this mess to me
Whose shoes are those shoes outside of my door
where I know my shoes supposed to be?
He said, my wife, my darling wife, honey, can't you plainly see
Those are nothing but a pair of rain boots and my momma gave them to me
Now I've traveled this world a many, many mile, and I hope someday to travel more
But I have never in my entire life seen a pair of rain boots with high heels on them before

Saturday night when I came home, tired as I can be
I saw a coat hanging up on the rack where I know my coat supposed to be
I said to my man, my darling man, please explain this mess to me
Whose coat is that coat hanging up on the rack
where I know my coat supposed to be?
He said, my wife, my darling wife, honey, can't you plainly see
That's nothing but an old choir robe, and your preacher left it here for me
Now I've traveled this world a many, many mile, and I hope someday to travel more
But I have never in my entire life seen a choir robe with a fur collar on it before

Saturday night when I came home, tired as I can be
I saw a head in the bed, where I know my head supposed to be
I said to my man, my darling man, please explain this mess to me
Whose head is that head in the bed where I know my head supposed to be?
He said, my wife, my darling wife, honey, can't you plainly see
That's nothing but an old Cabbage head, and your Momma brought that here to me
Now I've traveled this world a many, many mile, and I hope someday to travel more
But I have never in my entire life seen a cabbage head with a hair net on it before...
