Please help!!:"I just want to say I love you..."

I'm from UK and have just been on roadtrip in US and the Trek leader had a mix tape someone had made for her with a song I looveed which we kept playing but so frustratingly she had no idea what it was!!

I can't remember too much but the chorus lyrics were:-

"I just want to say I love you
Want you to feel it everyday
And if today should my last chance.."

(and I can't remember last line of chorus but the end rhymed with day!! - maybe 'I want to show you in every way?')

It was definitely American guy singing which is probably why I hadnt heard it before. Maybe country-ish? Very upbeat and there were large instrumental sections.

Can anyone please help me (?!!) cos I'd love to get hold of a copy to remind me of my great time in US!!

I'm gonna take a chance here and guess that you are referring to "If Tomorrow Never Comes" by Garth Brooks? It kind of sounds like it might be in a few ways, but not in others. Well, it's almost impossible for me to consider that some people might not know who he is. But of course, it is possible! But I'm gonna feel really silly if you know exactly who he is and that this song you're trying to identify isn't one of his at all.

Thanks for the reply Annie. Unfortunately I do know the Garth Brooks song and lovely as it is, its definitely not it!

The song I'm thinking of is really upbeat and there were large instrumental sections (in fact its more instrumental than lyrics).

I think that the song you are refering to is "I jus called to say I love you" of Stevie Wonder. Hope its that one.

Unfortunately it wasn't that simple! :-)

However I'm happy to say I did finally find the answer after many hours surfing!

Its a song called 'Sirens' by a band called 'The String Cheese Incident'.

Rest of lyrics are slightly corny, but I really love this song and has lot happy memories for me!
