    Zak! This asks for deeper meditation! It's no wonder you were born in Greece, cradle of pilosophy, land of philosophers.

    You write :"they dragged him till he broke" and thereafter: "whoever knows how to break suffers only for a short time";
    If I connect these two thoughts it seems rather grim- but then you follow up with "whoever saves himself, never perishes..."

    I like the Greek text especially. (remember I read the whole of Odysseus and the books of Herodotos in Greek ), though it was not easy.
    It seems even more compact than the english text you delivered
