I listened to both files but nothing sounded familiar.
Try the following website littlestevensundergroundgarage.com
They have a "Contact Us" selection that you could submit your sound bits to.
It is based on a weekly radio program tht covers the familiar to the obscure to the bizarre in 1960-79 undergroung/FM music.
Thanks atmaster I'll do that
Did you get a reply from Little Steven?
The second one kinda sounds like Iron Butterfly, or Deep Purple, or The Edgar Winter Group, but I can't figure out what it is. The song rocks out loud, though. If you figure out what it is, I would love to know. Good luck!

I took a second listen and the second song sounds like the song "Oh Well" by Fleetwood Mac (before the Buckingham Nicks joined the group). Possibly it is the original version when Peter Green was the lead guitarist.
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title
I agree that the second song is "Oh Well." The Fleetwood Mac original was from 1969, though, and sounds different from that. I believe you have a live recording. I don't recall FM putting out a live album in that era. A bootleg, or a live cover, I would guess.
