    Hi all,

Vanda, azizam, dokhtare noor :-) merci for the song "dokhtare darya". I wasvery happy to finally sing along with the music.

I am a bit sad. Iran is again continuously appearing on the TV in my country. Is about this issue regarding laws to be less permisive with girls that wear the veil incorrectly or do not cover their body properly. I believe is sad on both sides: sad that Iran governators still think that women should be covered and sad that countries like mine use this as as a political weapon to make people think "how bad they are in Iran, how good we are in here". For me is extremelly sad because those news make people to be more scared about muslim countries. They think that you treat women badly and that you all are fanatics. Well, I confess I dont like this habit of making women cover for not to tempt men either. I believe men should to control themselves alone... But I know not everybody is like this.
Well, when is not the atomic bomb is the veil... those are the only two things you can hear about Iran here in Spain. Sad but true :-(

Well, I try to spread your musical heritage also ;-(

    Love,

    Laura

PS: Vanda, could you please write the name of those songs from benyamin you talked me about?

unfortunetly... yes... every year they do like this for a short time but who cares? 90% of iranians hate and ignore them. it's a kind of fascism... women must wear whatever they want. just like men...
the government scares from women's beauty. hahahaha... they are so weak and sappy...
and I hope you saw the iranian's wear.
iranian girls always wear "Manto"(like a shirt) and "Rosary"(scarf) for example like these girls...

I think that's a skewed and uninformed view about the hijab (veil), and it seems perhaps that you don't know the whole idea behind it beyond what is probably shown and discussed in the media. I'm not saying that any government has the right to force religious doctrine on its people, but it also doesn't mean that those who choose to wear hijab are bad, backwards or otherwise irrational. There are many rational, reasonable and intellectual reasons for the hijab from physical, societal and religious points of view, irrespective of political or governmental adherence or interference.

NOOOOOO... hijab is just a silly law... you never wore a "mantoo" and "rosary" in summer and you can't imagine. and for your info, they deterrence even boys if they wear a shirt with short sleeve... do you believe?

hijab was good if it was voluntary.

a silly law, absolutely yes, because it's based on a government mandating religion forcefully. but hijab is not a silly concept or a silly value or idea independent of politics.

Thanx sweet Vandi, the concert was really nice i wished u were there i tried to put some pictures here but i cudnt

Yalla someday inshallah u`ll be able to attend one of my concert
and yes u were right, it means al Rimal al bayda

And hey THanx alot for ya rab its amazing,by the way I like ur new picture,I wonder if u know this,in Iraq when we point to a pretty woman we say look at this woman ,shes gorgeous, like an iranian!

About Hijab,Im with u though Im Muslim and kinda devout to Islam,i find it ridiculous to force a woman to wear a veil, coz i think that the faith is in the one`s heart and between the human and Allah (God),there is a saying for the prophet Mohammed(ص ) its meaning is : a Man`s action is bounded to his intention.im with u its good if its voluntary and if its done only for God with all of one`s heart.

Thats just remind me of a girl, she was in my department when i was in college about 8 years ago,she used to wear a veil and a full manteau down to her shoes, unfortunately,i discovered after a year or so that she was a prostitute and a bad woman. again a veil is not an indication for being religeous and committed,at all.

take care Azizam and thank you so much.

    Loooool Noora
    and thanks alot dear

u\U really confused me,well if u are in calfonia and its 7 PM then we have it 5 AM the following day! just add 10 hours to ur time.

about Hijab ,yes its a good value and important in society, but it loses its spiritual meaning and soul commitment to God if its done involuntary, that means the girl is doing it to obey a human being rule not God rules, not only the veil but this is applied to all religeon`s instructions, again the most important thing is the honest faith in God inside one`s heart and being kind and good towards all the people,i think u agree with me.

    take care Azizam

    Hi Haider...
I'm so happy for your successful performance and I'm sure that someday I'll cheer for you in your concert...
and I wanna see the pics. plz plz plz send me some of them... I think TinyPic - Share The Experience!™ is good for uploading soooooo plz upload your pics there...

and tnx for your kindness. merci keteerrrrr

about hijab I'm totally with you. in iran just like all countries we have religion minority. for example armenians. they must wear whatever they want cuz hijab doesn't exist in their relligion but in iran they r forced to wear scarf.
sometimes they incarcerate young girls. why? cuz they didn't wear his scarf in a right way. a girl with tender soul for a little mistake impounds with thiefs and habituals and bad women... even for a hour...

anyway... as always it would be over soon but unfortunately like this they make a horrible thing from religion for people...

    Dear Nooresabz,

can you please tell me what in your oppinion is the final porpouse of covering women?.
Actually, it was muslim people who told me about this. I know that the original intention of this practice miight be good, but the fact is that the practice is not so good. You kknow there are still many countries where women cannot drive a car alone, or work, or even go to the street alone. I am sure that people can find a thousand justifications for this, but is not fair. And I hate not fair things. Maybe because i am a woman, I feel those things more personally.
But myself, as Vanda, I believe this things will be over soon. 70 years ago, women should go to the church wearing a veil in Spain. When I was akid, I could not go to the church showing my shoulders. And now those things are over.

As Addosha said (or that is what I understood), God has nothing to do with those human petty things. Actually it was a Muslim guy who told me this: Imaging everything what you thing is God... well, nothing of this is God.
I dont know whether my englis was good or not in translating this, but basically, in my opinion, God is something totally different to anything related to human laws. All those religious things are man made concepts to control people.
So, we should try not to focus too much on human laws.

I hope that the situation in Iran or Irak will change soon.

Ignorance and greediness are the real problems we are facing in.

Today I had a kind of a quarrel with my work coleges because of this Iran thing...

Vanda, keep on the fight. Things will change.

    Love Laura

If you have some time and truly want to learn, then I would strongly recommend Ayatollah Murteza Mutahhari's book "The Islamic Modest Dress". You should be able to find a Spanish translation, his work is translated into many languages. You can find the English version here. Mutahhari was one of the greatest scholars, thinkers and philosophers of the modern Islamic philosophy and theology movement, his martyrdom was a true loss....

Actually, it was muslim people who told me about this.
That's what worries me. If you want to learn something about Islam, learn from the scholars, learn from the thinkers, learn from the books. Not from the everyday people, not from internet websites, not from Wikipedia. There is a stark difference between the educated level and the commoner level in Islamic thought and reason. This does not mean that information belongs to a religious elite, no, such an idea does not exist in Islam, but it does mean that you're safer in learning material from intellectually and sociologically and theologicalled learned people if you want to know what Islam says, instead of just what Muslims say.

I know that the original intention of this practice miight be good, but the fact is that the practice is not so good. You kknow there are still many countries where women cannot drive a car alone, or work, or even go to the street alone.
Comparing an idea like hijab like a stupid Saudi regulation like not letting women drive is a mistake of monumental proportions. Again I advise you, if you really want to learn the information, to start developing a theological and perhaps legal introduction from books written by scholars and working your way up.

But myself, as Vanda, I believe this things will be over soon. 70 years ago, women should go to the church wearing a veil in Spain. When I was akid, I could not go to the church showing my shoulders. And now those things are over.
Hijab will never be over. Perhaps you're talking about the silly regulations like women not driving?

And do realize that in parts of the Islamic world, this exact idea of "things being over" discredit Christianity, because people see it as betraying the original message of Christianity and further corruption of the values put forth by Christianity. In all orthodox Abrahambic traditions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) women are supposed to cover their heads in one form or another. Now how is it that the "modern" thing to do as a religious person is to not cover your head? Or, for example, how is it that the Vatican rejected the concept of limbo after 2000 years of having it? These things make the religion and the foundation of the religion look unstable and shaky.

Actually it was a Muslim guy who told me this: Imaging everything what you thing is God... well, nothing of this is God.
I dont know whether my englis was good or not in translating this, but basically, in my opinion, God is something totally different to anything related to human laws. All those religious things are man made concepts to control people.
No, this is not the Islamic position. We see the messages of the prophets (from Adam to Muhammad s.a.a.s.) to be divine revelation, and to contain, in addition to a reminder of the ethical, moral and human values already existant in the mind, a set of rules and regulations for matters that need to be regulated. Therefore, while income tax is not from God, a regulation against rape, for example, can be.

[quote]I hope that the situation in Iran or Irak will change soon.[quote]

    God willing.

Ignorance and greediness are the real problems we are facing in.
    Absolutely.

Today I had a kind of a quarrel with my work coleges because of this Iran thing...
I don't think you should quarrel or fight with them, try to counteract them with rationality and reason, and if they reject it, so be it. But don't get yourself upset, it's not worth it

Well, I truly accept your comments and recognize that my knowledge about Islam and muslims is quite limited. I dont want to talk more about those topics because they are very delicate and this is not the proper media nor the way to discuss about this. Regarding Christianism, well, basically I think about Christianism the same that I think about Islamism. Actually, I dont think they are so different... As I said before, maybe the principles were good, but man had distorced it so much that the resoults are being sad.
Maybe is also good for you muslims to know what we feel about you, what we think, why we our societies are so scared of yours... But you live in the States, dont you? so you must be already quite aware of this.
Anyhow, I hope that with places like this forum, we can learn to be more tolerant with each others. And I mean in a bidirectional way.
Good night. I am flying to Germany tomorrow for a couple of days.
    Saludos (greetings)
