a party

Castro smokes moulding cigars
drinks tequilas in the bars
with his friends from times long gone
world is moving on

Lenin laughs, doesn't know why
army officers pass by
blood has dried under the sun
it was so much fun

Kennedy comes in,with him
Monroe, snowwhite is her skin
jealousy is out of time
everything is fine

not saying a word
can nonetheless mean
talking loud

sad


arrogance
is the mother
of failed understanding

hatred
is a splinter in your heart
painful and hard to remove

picture

a silent willow
bowing over a sandy path
consoling enjoyment
in silence

waking up


the morning starts
hesitating
as if the waves
don't dare to touch the beach

sunrise

the sweet kiss of sunrise
makes my heart beat
stronger,
smell of cherry blossom
underneath my window
spring,
I surrender

spring

your eyes
travelled countless lightyears
your lips opened a thousand doors
and I was a glacier
melting
under the sunlight

the coming of night


night approaches
calming down the wind
for a while
while laying its hand
on the shoulder
of silence

expectations

feelings strain my heart
colours mingle and at night
slowly drift apart
while I await the light

life is short

frenzy ladies move like snakes
between labour, coffebreaks
faces pale longing for light
hard to get when they're inside
men with suits look all the same
mass of dullness, who's to blame
life is short but they can't see
where they really want to be

life is short, and yet unkind,
always trouble on your mind
life is short, you realize?
watch the truth into the eyes!

get that boat of yours ashore!

Hiding

hiding in a field
holding on to happiness
Letting only the wind
into your secret

Winter failed to come
sunshine already prevailing
and warming the asphalt
ready to embrace
i wait impatiently
For understanding and
sympathy
ackowledging that i need
her friendship

a friend


a heatwave suddenly replaced
by cold, wet winterair
a visitor you did expect
you waited-she ain't there
a holiday you wanted to
be in good company
but though you thought
you had a friend
how wrong you seemed to be!

I can quite of understand you like this kinda poem/song, Flower Brother.
It is meant to be rhytmical, rather short lines, singable.
For you as a drummer, it offers plenty of opportunities I think.

Well, yes, Frankie, very much so. I have indeed to thank you for inspiration on the haiku thread. Without you I might never have ventured
into that experiment.
The "old amaryn" will certainly appear from time to time. On Twitter there's no space for such. There I specialize in haiku and aforisms, but here it is
good to work with all kinds of poetry.
That is one of the excellent things about this Forum!

nothing

nothing can save us
from feeling insane
if we rely upon others
to blame
nothing can rescue
the honour we want
if we don't reach out
to friends and beyond

can't you see, tell me
are we too blind
to help ourselves
out of what's on our mind
cut off the strings
that prevent us to be
what we want - that's to be
free


nothing can stop us
from just reaching out
if we don't do it
what's left is our doubt
nothing can ensure
that I was right
always to avoid the night
