Default "Yes, It's Another Protest Song"

Time was slipping away so fast
    Immeasurable in the hourglass
I was immersed in pity and regret
    Smoking cigarette after cigarette

    (And...)

    I don't know when
It all came to a head
I was living in slow motion
Believing the lies I was fed
    Though no one showed me
    I finally had an epiphany
    After that I started slowly
    To see things much differently

    I've seen the vague outline
    Of this monstrosity
    Consuming art, culture, religion
    Government and philosophy

I began to research the hidden
And ridicule was what I earned
They mocked even though they didn't
Even study the things that I learned

    (And...)

    I don't know when
It all came to a head
I was living in slow motion
Believing the lies I was fed
    Though no one showed me
    I finally had an epiphany
    After that I started slowly
    To see things much differently

    I've seen the vague outline
    Of this monstrosity
    Consuming art, culture, religion
    Government and philosophy

But the public of enslaved puppets cry...
Leave us alone, we don't want to know!
Let us be, blissfully ignorant we think we're free!

Let us be, blissfully ignorant we think we're free!

We have protest songs from the left. We need protest songs from the right.

Actually Jim I kind of thought that this one could go either way....if you extend the potential directions of 'consuming' and 'hidden'.....

I don't mean that in a bad way BInB, just saying that it really made me think, and I hope that will be taken as a compliment rather than a dig. Nice work

Thanks Teshka. I take it as a compliment. In regards to left or right, I refuse to stand for either one in reality. I think the two party system is a lot of what's wrong with this nation. People put too much stock into their party affiliations but when you get right down to the meat of it, both parties have the same agendas. Meanwhile, the 3rd party choices get blackballed by the media... on purpose. We have in this nation what is called The False Left Right Paradigm. They give us the ''illusion'' of choice. That's what I believe.

I'm gonna say that that is a totally brilliant summation of politrix and the politricking lame-stream media in 21st century America. Thank you SO MUCH for saying so clearly something that needs so desperately to be understood.....by everyone, not just Americans.

You're welcome Teshka. Thank you for walking with your "eyes open". You know, I'm glad to have some new commentators, but I'm missing a regular, one in particular. Guess I made him mad somehow.
