It is probably the best riff ever!

Or even better give a listen from 3.15 to 4.22 of the following vid -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzJJgSls5-U
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"

Oh Yeah. I've been wondering who would get around to Deep Purple first

No argument at all from me. It's so classic, it almost defines "classic"

Some more "keep it simple", once you get into the song... like, Beethoven in reverse?

Thank you people. I didn't write anything, I think "Quicksand Jesus" really speaks for itself. One of my favourite bands, especially from that era.

Personaly, I mostly listen to rock and metal, and I am familiar with almost all the things you posted so far. But, for ex, never listened to (although I know of them) Uriah Heep and Joan Jett. So it's nice to see what songs you like from them...

Btw, lookup Dio, a metal god? Very strange...

I listen to many bands, different subgenres of rock/metal... From classic rock, pop rock and alternative, to (some) death and doom metal, and thrash metal, which I consider to be my favourite genre. But all in all, everything that is heavy, catchy or f*cked up (in a way that I like) will do.

Anyway, here is sth that crossed my mind right now, not sure why. It's a Serbian pop-rock band called 'Negative', most popular in late 90's and early 00's. This is their most famous and catchiest songs, called 'Ja bih te sanjala' ('I would dream of you')... Sounds great in original, and acoustic version in some covers is simply awesome.

Pay attention to this cover... Love it.

Awesome!! Those opening bass licks grabbed me right off and her vocals are soooo soulful. Love both of those vids.

About once a week on average I get into some form of metal, maybe symphonic or maybe sludge, whatever. It's all great in its way and as much as anything i love discovery, finding smth that i've never heard before.

No needs for words though, chatty or not it's all about the music!

Joan Jett, one of my rock heroes but there are a few other ladies that broke the rock 'sound barrier' in their own unique way.....

I know a place where you can get away

    You're a superstar

Guys you KNOW that i was gonna go here sooner or later

HIP HOP is the official subgenre. Rap is lyrical styling that is usually considered part of Hip Hop. This CLASSIC Hip Hop track from 1992 was released as an EP single, it had a strong cult following for more than a decade, has been featured in quite a few movies and can still sometimes be heard at live sports events....because it ROCKS!! The lyrics are on-screen and easy to follow. Try to ignore the 'scream' loops

I know this song like yesterday, but had no idea it was 40 years old:
