    Default Showgirl

    The woman is a vision
    Dancing to the beat
    Blonde hair down her shoulders
In high heels she's 6 feet
    You watch her perfect body
    Supple breasts rise and fall
    You see her perfect nipples
    Peeking over her bra

    She's a beautiful seductress
    Totally in control
She was born to be a Showgirl
    A natural, high and low
She was born to be a Showgirl
And when she's out on stage
    She's the object of attention
    With men of every age

    A bright red garter belt
    Flanks her hips and thighs
    Above her stocking tops
    Making your penis rise
    She works her lovely legs
    She knows she's in command
    Seamed nylons entice you
    Salute those golden gams

    She's a beautiful seductress
    Totally in control
She was born to be a Showgirl
    A natural, high and low
She was born to be a Showgirl
And when she's out on stage
    She's the object of attention
    With men of every age

Your eyes are reaching for her
    Glistening beneath the lights
    This young exotic dancer
    Is filling up your nights

    solo

    She knows what you're thinking
    You wanna see everything
    She moves her nimble fingers
    And drops her G-string
    Back in her apartment
    She's into lifting weights
    A female bodybuilder
    Her biceps intimidate

    She's a beautiful seductress
    Totally in control
She was born to be a Showgirl
    A natural, high and low
She was born to be a Showgirl
And when she's out on stage
    She's the object of attention
    With men of every age.

    Rap:
    Back in her apartment
    There's nothing left untried
    You give her cunnilingus
    You leave her satisfied
    Satisfied

    Default Too Late For Love

This is from a 1978 album I did with students while working at a military academy east of Nashville. The school is gone, but some of our recordings survived. Tim Morrison is the singer. He went on to play in bands and is now in the insurance business in L.A. I added a bridge and a third verse later, so they are not on this recording. The song and the guitar are a bit antique. One weird thing is the fade-out that never seems to end. I don't think they even do fade-outs anymore. Do they?

Tell me what you're thinking of
    I can't read your mind
Tell me, is it really love
    I've been way behind
Show me how to sort it out
    I've been wrong before
If you leave me any doubt
Then you can find the door

    Is it too late
    It is too late
Is it Too Late For Love

You say that I'm still a friend
    That will never do
Tell me if we're near the end
And I'll get rid of you
You weren't there in my darkest hour
    I've been down before
    I'll come back once again
And you won't see my door

    Is it too late
    Is it too late
Is it Too Late For Love

    I sit alone every night
    I hardly make a sound
I only know it isn't right
I'd like to bring you down

    solo

The good times come and then they go
I've seen it so many times
You say I'm not making sense to you
    I don't believe your lies

    Is it too late
    Is it too late
Is it Too Late For Love

    Is it too late
    Is it too late

When they're watching me, I feel right

    Somebody's Taken Your Place
    Somebody's Taken Your Place

Her body's warm when she's laying beside me
Her love is real and it's good to me
Her love is here and it's all inside me
When I'm with her then I feel free

    Default What About The Changes?

    This is gospel.

    What About The Changes?
    In the people who believe
What has happened in their lives
    That others do not see
    What about the empty tomb
    The women came to find
    What about eternal life
Can it be yours and mine

    The Apostle Paul was briefly
    Blinded by the light
    The dying thief was rendered
    Righteous in His sight
    What About The Changes?
    That took place at Pentecost
Can it be that all our sins
Went with Him to that cross

The Son of God is watching over us today
Put your trust in Him, and He'll show you the way
What about the Resurrection, can we too survive
    Jesus Christ is alive!

    solo

    What About The Changes?
    In the people who believe
    Will the Holy Spirit
Be with them on Judgement Day
    What about the empty tomb
    The women came to find
    What about eternal life
Can it be yours and mine

    Default Songs About Angels

    Driving east from California
    Through the Arizona desert
I made a stop for some lunch
    And a tank of gas
There was an old Native American
On a bench outside a restaurant
    He started talking
    When he saw my guitar

He said, I like Songs About Angels
    Red western sunsets
    I like the feeling
    Of autumn in the air
    I like Songs About Angels
    Music from heaven
    Their golden wings
Are like the halo that you wear

    It's a long 3 days to Nashville
So I hurried down my food
    The CD we were doing
    Needed one more song
But before I hit that Interstate
    I wrote down these lines
    The words he said
Are still running through my mind

He said, I like Songs About Angels
    Red western sunsets
I like the feeling of autumn
    In the air
    I like Songs About Angels
    Music from heaven
    Their golden wings are like
    The halo that you wear

    Default Someday Michael

About my kid sometime after my divorce

Someday Michael's gonna be a man
I only hope he does the best he can
    Michael and I have reached
    An understanding
I doubt that I will have another
Someday I'd like to be a grandfather
    Someday Michael
Will have children of his own

The in-law problem was hard on me
When things fell apart in Tennessee
    I couldn't find a job
Things had gotten out of control
This old arthritis was in my knees
    Something my wife couldn't see
I had to sell the house
And leave my son to Jesus

Someday Michael's gonna set things right
Money from the house will be a start in life
    Money for a car, college
And a home when he needs one
I'm so proud to be his daddy
He's the one thing I would never change
    Someday Michael will be
    A successful man

The week-end visits and the child support
Fishing in the pond and riding the horse
    Remember all the trolly rides
    Down in Nashville
The baseball games and movie shows
    Dinosaurs and Home Alone
Remember the time we went bowling
    Up in Red Wing

Someday Michael's gonna be a man
I only hope he does the best he can
    Michael and I have reached
    An understanding
I doubt that I will have another
Someday I'd like to be a grandfather

This song is just ripe for the music, Mr. Jim Colyer. Or do you have the music already too? If you're in Nashville this song may be a crowd catcher. There are probably lots of local venues you've played. I would certainly enjoy hearing this song. It is the most personally revealing of your writings that I've seen; usually I see your prose.

If you do play various venues in Nashville, TN, is there a place on ATL where people can advertise that they will be playing? If so, who knows, me and B.G. (Big Guy or DH--Darling Husband) might come for a visit to hear you! We've been to The Blue Bird and another great little theatre years ago where we saw Kiko Matsui when she was more into fantastic jazz than her more recent "easy listening" beautiful music.

    Frankie Jasmine,
I do have a melody for this but have never tried to record it. I used to play the songwriter venues in town like the Bluebird and Douglas Corner. Nowadays, I just pitch songs using the Internet.

OK. Be sure to let me know if you are going to perform around Nashville or if you sell any of your songs--I'd be interested to keep an "ear" out for your art. Thanks.

Default Even I Can Sing The Blues

    Well, I met you
    And it seemed like
It would just go on forever
Everything we touched turned to gold
    We had our run
    Our day in the sun
Now it's our turn to lose
Even I, Even I Can Sing The Blues

    I begged you
    And I pleaded
But you went out and found another woman
You're the kind of man who's just gotta have it all the time
    You left me lonely
You left me with a baby
Now I'm way down in my shoes
Even I, Even I Can Sing The Blues

Even a white girl can sing the blues
I've gotta crawl back to mom and dad
They're gonna say we told you so
They're gonna say we knew he was bad
They're gonna make me find a job
They're gonna say he made a fool out of you
