Default Finnish -> English Kotiteollisuus - Aamu

    Kuten kansa on
    hukassa ilman johtajaansa
    on maailma
    eksynyt ilman Jumalaansa

    Jaettiin viisi leipää
    jaettiin kaksi kalaa
se saakin riittää, sillä ihmeidentekijä ei palaa

    Kerto:
Aamu on kuin pesä jonkin oudon linnun
    hauraana korkealla se keikkuu
latvassa lahon puun ja kylmän tuulen
    riepoteltavana

    En nukuta lastani enää
    saduilla
    kuuntelemme, kuinka valloittajat marssivat kaduilla

    Aatteen, uskonnon, rahan
    nimissä kaiken pahan
saamme niellä, nielemme hevosen ja sen nahan

    Kerto

    ...tai soitin
    yön pimeydestä rakennettu
    kielinään roudan hiukset
    seiteistä aamukasteisista kasattu
    soiden kuin kuoleman kielet

    "Tuonelan soitin soi
    romuluinen kantele helisee
    yö sakenee, ja pakenee
    viimeiset valon säteet
    kun kuolon kädet meitä hyväilee"

    Tuonelan soitin soi
    romuluinen kantele helisee!

    Thanks in advance

    Band: Domestic Industry
    Song: The Morning

    [Verse 1]
    Just like a nation is
    lost without its leader,
    the world is
    lost without its God.

    Five breads were shared,
    two fishes were shared. [1]
That is all you can have,
for the miracle-maker is not returning.

    [Refrain]
The morning is like a nest of some strange bird
it is fragile and swaying high above
at the top of a dry-rotten tree,
shaken by the cold wind. [2]

    [Verse 2]
I am no longer making my child to sleep
    by reading fairy tales.
We are listening to the conquering troops
    marching on the streets.

In the name of creed, religion, and money,
we have to accept all the evil things. [3]
We have to swallow the horse and its skin. [4]

    [Refrain]

    [Extended refrain]
    ... or a musical instrument
build from the darkness of night
using strings made from whisks of frost
assembled from spider webs, damp with morning dew
making sound like tolling of death bell.

    [Chant x2]
The musical instrument of the land of dead is playing
roughly made lap-harp is jingling. [5]
    Night is getting darker
and the last rays of light are fleeing
when the hands of the death are caressing us.

    [Chorus x4]
The musical instrument of the land of dead is playing
    roughly made lap-harp is jingling.
    ---

    Translation notes:
[1] This "Feeding the multitude" is one of the miracles of Jesus in the
    Gospels.

[2] "Riepotteleu" means damaging something by shaking it violently. For
example, a dog can bite the neck of a smaller animal and shake his
head while biting down so that the neck of the small animal is broken

[3] I had to re-arrange some words here to make out the original meaning.

[4] "horse and its skin" means "more than what we can handle"

[5] "Romuluinen" is usually used to describe a person, and it means "large
    and rough-looking".
