    Notes From The Possession
    By D.M Daniel

And he’s looking now across the sea
and he see’s her standing there
    with melancholy in her eyes
and black ribbons in her hair

He knows her darkness is willing
    and her sorrow’s will behave
He’ll die in those eternal arms
and let her body be his grave

Her grief will be his possession
Her tears will sing out a prayer
    He know’s he’ll live forever
in the depths of her despair

Some of us need the suffering
Some of us need the fire
We just crawl around forever here
in the wounds of our desire

He’ll shine right through her misery
For all the world to see
Her broken heart, a china cup
    of immortal legacy

    Her weeping silhouette, he’ll watch
    from behind the winding sheet
As echo’s dance on a bloody stage
    and the haunting is complete

And he thinks the crime is perfect
but pride has led him astray
Because the story is on a pendulum
and it goes the other way

Some of us need the suffering
Some of us need the fire
We just crawl around forever here
in the wounds of our desire

And now she sees him standing there
    with repletion on his face
This man has a foul and wicked need
    for history’s cruel embrace

And her malice takes him by the hand
to where shackles have their way
He board’s her waiting coffin ship
and she let’s it sail away

And his flesh will set off the fires
    to brighten her disgrace
    Giving light to velvet chamber’s
where the echoes know their place

Some of us need the suffering
Some of us need the fire
We just crawl around forever here
In the wounds of our desire

And she’ll feed on his indignities
In his blood her image will play
She’ll light torches from his agonies
and her soul will find it’s way

She’ll let him rot there inside her
He can play his sainted part
She’ll keep his cries forever deep
    in a little mothball heart

And you may not want to hear this
You may not wish to believe
But some are born for early graves
and some are born to grieve

This is damn good! The story you tell is very vivid and interesting. It's dark, cold, intense and, most importantly, poetic. I love the following line: "He’ll die in those eternal arms/and let her body be his grave". Notes From The Possession is, quite simply, a masterpiece. It is the type of lyrics to read often, and with cruel pleasure. In the words of John Mellencamp: "It hurts so good"!
