Please translate "γούβα" and "Περαία" in song "Μες στου Βάβουλα τη γούβα". Is "Περαία" the port "Piraeus"?

Only for the particular song and not for general use these words have the following meanings:

γούβα -> basement
Περαία -> Pireaus (you were right about this one David but don't generalize the use, there are other "Περαία" also)

Pireaus pronounced as "ο Περαίας" in local (old) slang, and many songs of the category rebetico, laiko, are using this slang. BUT
Η Γουβα του Βάβουλα* is a small district of Pireaus named γούβα = pit because it has the lowest altitude of the city, like a huge pit,
