Default SOLVED: Famous jazz-y trumpet song / instrumental

Hello! There is a part of a song that's just stuck in my head and it's driving me crazy.
Unfortunately, I can remember just bits and pieces, but it goes something like this:

    a trumpet solo, something like : b b b d (yeah)
than the band repeats it, but lower: bbbd
    the same thing again

then it goes to something like a# and stays there for the vocals.
and here come voices like: billy billy bom, billy billy bom (x2)

It's like super famous, but I really can't remember much more. Also, the notes are just to get the feel, I might be completely wrong. I think it's an usa song.

Any help would be deeply appreciated!

Hi! Thank you very much for your reply! Unfortunately, the song that I have in mind is quite different. I am almost sure, that there was a vocal singing something like that, but I still don't have any other clues.

    How old is the song?
Are the vocals male or female?
Are the vocals backup singers or a lead vocalist?

Hi! I just found the song!
Its Cantaloop by US3. I was referring to this part - https://youtu.be/JwBjhBL9G6U?t=1m12s. The sample there is actually from Cantaloupe Island by Herbie Hancock - I found this one first, then it was easy to find the version I heard. Of course I got the key wrong, and the "lyrics" that I gave are actually something like : Diddi-diddi bop / biggity biggity bop - or whatever why you choose to spell it.
I hope this thread helps someone else - I spent a couple of sleepless nights until I figured this one out.

atmaster, thank you again for you replays!
    Cheers!
