Default 80's ballad - "Say it tonight" or "Save tonight" or "Safe tonight"?

I heard it recently in a restaurant (after not hearing it for many, many years) & now it's driving me absolutely nuts! It's been impossible to find the song via simple google searches! It's a soft, 80s, American male-vocal ballad with a repeated "Say it tonight" or "Save tonight" or "Safe tonight" or "Stay the night" refrain. It's NOT: Eagle Eye Cherry, Benjamin Orr, Chicago, Comsat Angels, Billy Ocean, or Jeffrey Osborne. The title must not actually be called any of those lyrics! It sounds very SIMILAR to Starship "Set the night to music" because of the length of the note on "night" but that isn't it. Losing my mind! Please Help!

    My wild guesses are:

"Save The Night" by John Legend

"Stay The Night" by Zedd ft. Hayley Williams
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

Try "No Way Out" by Starship. Long shot, but there is a point where they hold a word for a long time as described.
