This will be a tough one

For years I have been looking for a song and I still haven't found it. I so hope this forum will be able to help me.

It's a song from which the only lyrics I remember are 'South Africa'.

The song is from the 80's. My guess would be 1985. I remember from the video clip there was a pretty blonde girl, short curly hair in a light blue jumpsuit, leaning back against some wall in a hot sunny place (South Africa?).

The song is some kind of ballad.

It's been like 30 years since I last saw it on (at the time) SkyTV in Europe.

I'm sorry I don't remember more about the song. I only know what I described above and that I loved that song.

A virtual big cake with lots of sugar on top and yummie whipped cream for whomever knows what song I am talking about.

She looks pretty similar the kind of girl I remember from the video but she's not it and neither is the song. Unfortunately. The one I remember has got much more colour in the video and he girl is wearing a light blue jump suit.

"Happy ever after" is a nice song though and I had not heard of Julia Fordham before so thanks for that anyway.

FOUND IT !!!!

I searched for hours, broadened my search to just 'Africa' in the lyrics, looked for lists of such songs in the UK hit charts around 1985 and finally found it! My memory was a bit off, the lyrics were 'Radio Africa, not 'South Africa' and the clip was not as colorful as I remember (or there was a different clip at the time).
