Hi,

I'd like to know the lyrics of "Story of the Shepherd" by Bobby Callender. The song is on the 1968 album "The Way". I don't think that the lyrics are somwhere on the internet, so I've tried to figure them out. There will be some mistakes and at least one word is missing:

"John, this is the story of the shepherd,
the story of thy avatar.

A shepherd blissfully playing on his wooden flute
appeared to me,
not being unlike a vision onto my known mind's eye.
And I thought how very peaceful is he.

Then there also appeared onto me,
dancing and whirling about the shepherd,
very pretty young groupies.
And the sun radiated his glowing prue(?) above them.

The shepherd continued playing his wooden flute.
But now accompanied by the balladeers of light,
who joined him in his merry tune.
And now throughout the vast cosmic meadow there was peace.

I felt very touched by his gentleness and sincerity.
And an overwhelming feeling of happiness and harmony developed within me.
Total serenity descended upon me.
And I felt transcended from my human body.

I spent that whole day with him and far into the evening time.
He told many stories and painted vivid portraits(?)
within my vivid garden of recollections.
And as I listened to his every word and thought,
mother nature herself is nurturing from the unlimited
amount of energy that emanated from within him,
whilst he spoke.

And I felt not in like being within in a cosmic embryo.
And everywhere I beheld the genesis of life.
And everywhere there was the light.
And everywhere there was the spirit of love.

When I reopened my eyes,
I felt warm and secure,
within the soft caressing arms
of the loving sunrise."

Any corrections and suggestions are highly appreciated. Thanks!
