Friends and neighbours (as Stephen King might say),

Does any of you have a female artist's name (and, really, a correct title) for these lyrics
(which, themselves, seem not to be online anywhere - believe me I've looked):

In the late afternoon
I hear the traffic on the city streets again.
Here alone in my room (or: All alone in my room)
I welcome in the twilight like a friend.
My world has turned around
since you went away.
I'm living on the dark side
hiding from the day.

Night winds, blow me away
far from morning.
Night winds, I wanna stay
on the wings of a dream.

In the deep purple haze
xx
xx
xx
I would do anything
anything that would set me free
from living on the dark side
with my memories.

Night winds, blow me away
far from morning.
Night winds, I wanna stay
on the wings of a dream.

The song dates from the late 1970s as I recall. I had an old (cassette tape!) recording of the number, which did not include the title - which was forgotten over the years. The above is transcribed from memory though, hence the gaps.

I am friendly ghost, but also a frustrated one! Please help!
