Thumbs up Orfeas Peridis - Soneto

Default Another song talking about crisis

    [lkCWUe33lr4]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkCWUe33lr4[/video]

    We should walk timidly,
wherever there is a little light. (1)
Cause we may scare it and break itself,
like the carafe of a feast which ended ingloriously (2)
on the edge of an empty and stuttering day

Timidly is how we should walk
    ____________________________

We should speak silently, cause we talked too much
and young people left with their heads bent, (3)
    humiliated like (hunted) dogs
after all our talking of indifference,
which seemed like clubs bearing rough nails on (4)

Silently is how we should speak
    ____________________________

We should gently touch, your wing-bearing shoulder (5)
it's being broken for years by our own fists
It's time for you to come and live in our fireplaces (6)

Gently is how we should touch

    (1) Greece is marked by it's "distinct sunlight"
    (2) Talks about the years before crisis
    (3) Talks about the emigration of young Greeks
    (4) Talks about the stance of elder generations
    (5) Might talk about Eros the god of love, and I suppose love is mentioned here as a general idea, as compassion, understanding etc
    (6) Fireplace in Greek lang may also describe Greek house, Greek family. (Hestia or Estia = fireplace)
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"
