I heard this at somebody's house in Manchester in about 1995 but I guess it wasn't even new then.

I only heard it once so forgive my sketchy recollection of the lyrics.

If I had to guess it sounds like something Teddy Pendergrass would sing.

The song starts with some young american girls talking and it ends with one saying. 'I can't pay my rent'.

Then the man starts to sing.

Oh and it has a killer intricate guitar baseline.

This is basically what I can remember from the male singer (there was no other singer). There will be lots missing.
Everything in quotes is either a guess or I cannot remember.

We just don't understand, yeahhh ah ah ah.
We have to do something about it.
Yeeeeah.

Then the base line kicks in.

In this world we have our problems we don't understand and oh.
And I know we can work it out.
In time we shall be free, of these old ways.
And then together we begin the new 'life'

We don't understand what we have ooh, we just want to be here, to be here.
'I do not remember the next line'.
And we'll be for ever more.

Chorus.

All that matters is this unity that's gonna make it matter for you and me.
Gonna make it matter, for you and me, alright.
All we need is little bit is a little bit.

We're to blind to see the 'meaning' between love and hate.
Feelings will come ' I do not remember the rest of the line'.
Time holds the key to all our problems that we 'live' today.
So forgive and forget and love will show us the way.

I cannot remember the rest before the chorus

If I had to hazard a guess are the title it would be.

All we need.
Unity.
Make it matter.
