    Smile celtic woman lyrics

Hi, i'm looking for the lyrics to some songs sung by celtic woman. The songs are:

    At the Céili
    Sing Out
The Sky and the Dawn and the sun
    Mo Ghile Mear

I don't know if celtic woman is the original artist or not since they interpret works from others artist too. Any help is appreciated.

I haven't heard that album yet, so I can't help you with the first three songs, but "Mo Ghile Mear" is a traditional Irish one and I know it.
I have it sung by Mary Black (and by The Chieftains feat. Sting, but that's another story :P).

    Mo Ghile Mear

    Curfá:
Sé mo laoch mo Ghile Mear
    'Sé mo Chaesar, Ghile Mear,
Suan ná séan ní bhfuaireas féin
Ó chuaigh i gcéin mo Ghile Mear

Bímse buan ar buaidhirt gach ló,
Ag caoi go cruaidh ’s ag tuar na ndeór
Mar scaoileadh uaim an buachaill beó
'S ná ríomhtar tuairisc uaidh, mo bhrón

Sé mo laoch mo Ghile Mear...

Ní labhrann cuach go suairc ar nóin
Is níl guth gadhair i gcoillte cnó,
Ná maidin shamhraidh i gcleanntaibh ceoigh
Ó d'imthigh sé uaim an buachaill beó

Sé mo laoch mo Ghile Mear...

    Seinntear stair ar chlairsigh cheoil
’S líontair táinte cárt ar bord
Le hinntinn ard gan chaim, gan cheó
Chun saoghal is sláinte d' fhagháil dom leómhan

Sé mo laoch mo Ghile Mear...

Ghile Mear ‘sa seal faoi chumha,
'S Éire go léir faoi chlócaibh dubha
Suan ná séan ní bhfuaireas féin
Ó cuaigh i gcéin mo Ghile Mear

Sé mo laoch mo Ghile Mear...

Seal da rabhas im’ mhaighdean shéimh
'S anois im’ bhaintreach chaite thréith
Mo chéile ag treabhadh na dtonn go tréan
De bharr na gcnoc is I n-imigcéin.

    ***
    My dashing darling

    Chorus:
He is my hero, my dashing darling
He is my Caesar, dashing darling
I've had no rest from forebodings
Since he went far away my darling

Every day I am constantly sad
    Weeping bitterly and shedding tears
Because our lively lad has left us
And no news from him is heard, alas

The cuckoo doesn't sing cheerfully at noon
And the sound of hounds is not heard in nut-filled woods
Nor a summer morning in a misty glen
Since he went away from me, my lively boy

    Noble, proud young horseman
Warrior unsaddened, of most pleasant countenace
    A swift-moving hand, quick in a fight
Slaying the enemy and smiting the strong

Let a strain be played on musical harps
And let many quarts be filled
With high spirit without fault or mist
For life and health to toast my lion

Dashing darling for a while under sorrow
And all Ireland under black cloaks
Rest or pleasure I did not get
Since he went far away my dashing darling

For a while I was a gentle maiden
    And now - a spent worn-out widow
My spouse ploughing the waves strongly
Over the hills and far away

    __________

As with most traditional songs, Celtic Woman's version of the lyrics may differ from other versions.

Some sources ascribe it to Seán Clárach Mac Dómhnaill (1691-1754), and "his" full version is as it follows:

    Mo Ghile Mear

Bímse buan ar buairt gach ló,
ag caoi go cruaidh 's ag tuar na ndeor,
mar scaoileadh uainn an buachaill beo
's ná ríomhtar tuairisc uaidh, mo bhrón!

    Curfá:
Is é mo laoch, mo ghille mear,
    is é mo Shéasar, gille mear;
ní bhfuaireas féin aon tsuan ar séan
ó chuaigh i gcéin mo ghille mear.

Ní haoibhinn cuach ba suairc ar neoin,
táid fíorchoin uaisle ar uatha spóirt,
    táid saoithe 's suadha i mbuairt 's i mbrón
ó scaoileadh uainn an buachaill beo.

Níor éirigh Phoebus féin ar cóir,
ar chaomhchneas ré tá daolbhrat bróin,
tá saobhadh ar spéir is spéirling mhór
chun sléibhte i gcéin mar d'éala' an leon.

Níl séis go suairc ar chruachruit cheoil,
tá an éigse i ngruaim gan uaim 'na mbeol,
táid béithe buan ar buairt gach ló
ó théarnaigh uainn an buachaill beo:

    Marcach uasal uaibhreach óg,
gas gan ghruaim is suairce snó,
glac is luaimneach luath i ngleo
ag teascadh an tsluaigh 's ag tuargain treon.

Is glas a shúil mhear mhuirneach mhóil
    mar leagadh an drúchta ar chiumhais an róis;
tá Mars is Cúpid dlúth i gcomhar
i bpearsain úir 's i ngnúis mo stóir.

Is cas a chúil 's is cúrsach cóir,
is dlaitheach dlúth 's is búclach borr,
is feacach fionn ar lonradh an óir
ó bhaitheas úr go com mo stóir.

Is cosúil é le hAonghus óg,
le Lughaidh mac Céin na mbéimeann mór,
le Cú Roí, ardmhac Dáire an óir,
    taoiseach Érann tréan ar tóir,

    le Conall Cearnach bhearnadh póirt,
le Fearghus fiúntach fionn mac Róigh,
le Conchobhar, cáidhmhac Náis na nós,
    taoiseach aoibhinn Chraoibhe an cheoil.

Ní mhaífead féin cé hé mo stór -
tá insint scéil 'na dhéidh go leor -
ach guím chun Aonmhic Dé na gcomhacht
go dtí mo laoch gan bhaol beo.

Ach seinntear stáir ar chláirsigh cheoil
is líontar táinte cárt ar bhord
le hintinn ard gan cháim gan cheo
chun saoil is sláinte d'fháil dom leon.

    Curfá:
Is é mo laoch, mo ghille mear,
    is é mo Shéasar, gille mear;
mo chruatan féin a lua tré léan
mar chuaigh i gcéin mo ghille mear.

    Hi
    I found these lyrics

    At the Céili

Tonight we’re going to meet some lads
Us girls are dressed up gaily.
And we’ll be dancing till the dawn
    We’re going to the Ceili

The lads they come from miles around
    From Ennis and Kilmaley
To show us all their fancy steps
    We’re going to the Ceili

    They’re playing tunes on everything
    from pipes to ukulele
It sounds so good you can’t sit down
    We’re dancing at the Ceili

All the boys we loved so well
    So handsome, young, and charming
They’re in New York and Boston now
They should be home here farming
My own true love has sailed away
    To be and endless rover
‘Cuz times are tough and he must leave
To start a new life over

He writes me letters every week to say how much he’s slavin’
And he promises that he’ll be back before the hay needs savin’
But it’s hard to love somebody that you’re not in touch with daily
So I’m looking for somebody new tonight down at the Ceili

The winter nights are long and hard and time goes by so slowly
I wish my true love he was here and in his arms I’d roll
He’d whisper tender words of love to me and kiss my lips so sweetly
And quickly I’d surrender to his manly charms completely

He writes me letters every week to say how much he’s slavin’
And he promises that he’ll be back before the hay needs savin’
But it’s hard to love somebody that you’re not in touch with daily
So I’m looking for somebody new tonight down at the Ceili
So I’m looking for somebody new tonight down at the Ceili

I hope I meet someone tonight who’ll make my heart beat fast
I handsome man with laughing eyes who smiles as he walks past
And when they play an old-time waltz he’ll twirl me ‘round the floor
And promise me that I will be his girl for evermore
    His girl for evermore
    His girl for evermore
And promise me that I will be his girl for evermore

I’m somewhat in a bother that is really quite alarming
I have two lads pursuing me and each of them is charming
One of them is dark and poor, one fair with lots of money
I don’t know which one to choose, the flower or the honey

What on Earth am I to do it’s driving me half crazy
Tonight I’ll make my mind up when I see them at the Ceili

To be a poor man’s wife will be a life of washin’ dishes
While a rich mans wife will surely have great luxury and riches
In comfort how I know it wouldn’t be to hard to wallow
And being poor is not much fun. Which one should I follow?

What on Earth am I to do it’s driving me half crazy
Tonight I’ll make my mind up when I see them at the Ceili

I’ve been lucky I’ve found a lad whose handsome and a neighbor
And me I’ve meet a decent man whose friendship I will savor
And me I’ve made my choice as well and in no way was it easy (Note: pronounced aisy)
But I’d rather have a man for love than be a rich mans lady

And that is how the story ends, may true love never fail me
We got ourselves three men tonight and we met them at the Ceili

    Sing Out Lyrics:

Sing a new song to the world
    Let your voice be heard
    Go and bring the word
This whole world was meant to be
For you as well as me
    For humanity

We all travel the same road
    Carry the same load
    Reap what we have sowed
You are hoping just like me
    To live with dignity
    Hoping to be free

    Sing out
    Sing out
    Sing to the world
Sing out you will be heard
Sing the message and the word
Sing a new song to the world
    Sing out
    Sing to the world

If you’re God’s the same as mine
    Has been for all time
    Why are we so blind
What we’re doing in his name
    Well it’s a crying shame
    We all cry the same

    Sing out
    Sing out
    Sing to the world
Sing out you will be heard
Sing the message and the word
Sing a new song to the world
    Sing out
    Sing to the world

    Repeat Chorus (2x)

The sky and the dawn and the sun Lyrics:

High is the moon tonight (ya da da da yada da da da)
    Hiding it's guiding light, high
    Heaven and earth do sleep
Still in the dark so deep
    I will the darkness sweep

ya da da da da da da....

I will the moon to flight
    I will the heaven's bright
I will the earth to light

    Open your eyes with me
    See paradise with me
    Awake and arise with

ya da da da da da.....

I am the dawn I'm the new day begun
I bring you the morning I bring you the sun
I hold back the night and I open the skies
I give light to the world I give sight to your eyes

From the first of all time, until time is undone
Forever and ever and ever and ever
And I am the dawn and the sky and the sun
I am one with the one and I am the dawn

    Now let the day begin
    Now every dancer spin
Step in and step out again

ya da da da da da da

    Let every bell to ring
    Trumpet and violin
    Let every chorus sing

ya da da da da da da .....

    Instrumental

I am the sky and the dawn and the sun
I am the sky and the new day begun
I am the sky and the dawn and the sun

Hope this is of some help

Celtic Woman's Mo Ghile Mear lyrics, courtesy of freewebs.com/chloeagnew ... which i run :-)

"Sing Out!", "At The Ceili, and "The Sky, The Dawn, & The Sun" are all original works :-) Their arrangement of "Mo Ghile Mear" is original except the chorus. The chorus is from the original writing, but their verses were written by their director David Downes.

Can you feel the river run
Waves are dancing to the sun
Take the tide and face the sea
And find a way to follow me

Leave the field and leave the fire
And find the flame of your desire
Set your heart on this far shore
And sing your dream to me once more

    (Chorus)
Sé mo laoch mo Ghile Mear
    Sé mo Chaesar, Ghile Mear
Suan ná séan ní bhfuaireas féin
Ó chuaigh i gcéin mo Ghile Mear

Now the time has come to leave
Keep the flame and still believe
Know that love will shine through darkness
One bright star to light the way

    Chorus

Lift your voice and raise the sail
Know that love will never fail
Know that I will sing to you
Each night as I dream of you

    Chorus
    Ray, Nick, and Máiréad instrumental
    Chorus

Ghile Mear the wind and sun
The sleep is over dream is done
To the west where fire sets
To the Ghile Mear the day begun

    Chorus(2x)
