Hi..paulk89...I can't give you much, but i have spoken with a German born friend, who is looking for it. Tagen is daily, and Brot is bread...but unless it has to to with "Give us each day our daily bread", I'm stumped for now. Peter will try to find the song somewhere..do you know where you heard it or if it is a modern song? Pollyanna
I found out (although you probably know this) that Fettes Brot is the name of a group, and the song is Am tagen wie diesen. I'll keep trying. pollyanna
The group's name translates to "Fat Bread", which is slang, I'm guessing. I believe I read once it was slang for 'cool' or something of that sort? And the song, I believe, is called "On days like this" in English, but I am not completely sure.
I'm sorry that I cannot help you with anything else, I would try, but I have not heard the song nor seen its lyrics.
Sorry, mate.

I translated the first stanza. If I have time I translate the rest.
Moin, moin, (is used in northern Germany as hello)
what's up?
everything's ok with you?
what time?
almost nine, okay.
I want to leave, get breakfast.
I switch on the walkman and open the door
run along the street to Kaufmann's
because there you get the best gems/rolls
I read the newspaper at the counter
Something about a big attack
with lots of bombs on a small town
many people died
and destroyed it in just one night.
I pay and leave
and hear the news anchor
the status worsened dramatically, again; fantastic weather today
suddenly a boom, thousand shards everywhere
neighbor's cat got hit in a car accident
the sight can spoil your mood
what was this thinking, dying in front of my eyes?
Fettes Brot really means Fat Bread and the song (An Tagen wie diesen - On days like these) is about all the problems in the world, about hunger, poverty and terrorism...
The Corus means:
absolute Wahnsinnsshow
im Fernsehen und im Radio
die Sonne lacht so schadenfroh
an Tagen wie diesen
niemand der mir sagt wieso
beim Frühstück oder Abendbrot
die Fragen bohren so gnadenlos
an Tagen wie diesen
Absolutly crazy show,
on TV and radio,
the sun is smiling harm-gladly,
on days like these...
Nobody who tells me why,
at breakfest or dinner,
the questions bore merciless,
on days like these....
I hope it helps you!
Greetings from Germany,
Leeman
