Τ' όνομά σου μου' φερνε το σφύριγμα του αγέρα
τ' όνομά σου κι έτρεμε η ψυχή

Ετοιμάσου μου' λεγε η καρδιά, μα κάθε μέρα
στην υγειά σου μ' έπινε η βροχή

Τρυφερά τις νύχτες την αγάπη μου φωνάζεις
τρυφερά σε γύρευα κι εγώ
Το πρωί τριαντάφυλλο του κήπου μου φαντάζεις
το πρωί, τ' αγκάθι σου είναι εδώ

Μα αν δεν σε βρω, να μην ξεχνάς
ό,τι σταυρώνεις το προσκυνάς

Τ' άγγιγμά σου χάραζε το σώμα μου απ' τη μνήμη
πρώτα η πίστη κι ύστερα διωγμοί

"prepare" was the "heart" telling me, but every day

"to your health" the rain was "drinking me up"

Τρυφερά, τις νύχτες την αγάπη μου φωνάζεις
/ trifera, tis nihtes tin agapi mou fonazis
tenderly, at night you are "calling" ... "Love" ... to me
τρυφερά, σε γύρευα κι εγώ
/ trifera, se yireva ki ego
tenderly, I was "seeking" for you myself

Το πρωί τριαντάφυλλο του κήπου μου φαντάζεις
/ to proi triantafillio tou kipou mou fantazis
in the morning, you "strike" me (as) "a garden's rose"
το πρωί, τ'αγκάθι σου είναι εδώ

in the morning, your "thorn" is here
