Default if ever you need somebody

oh man i have been looking for this song for too long now.

not sure of the artist, sounds like it could be late 80's early 90's rock

"if ever you need somebody, someone to tell you it's alright"
"if ever you need somebody, just take my hand and hold on tight"
"if ever you need somebody, I'll be there!"

Any tips or responses would be much appreciated!!
    Thanks!

Try "You'll Be in My Heart" by Kenny Loggins (here's a link to the lyrics)

Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

Maybe this one by Phil Collins:

    "You'll Be In My Heart"

    Come stop your crying
    It will be all right
    Just take my hand
    Hold it tight

    I will protect you
    from all around you
    I will be here
    Don't you cry

    For one so small,
    you seem so strong
    My arms will hold you,
    keep you safe and warm
    This bond between us
    can't be broken
    I will be here
    Don't you cry

'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
    From this day on
    Now and forever more
    You'll be in my heart
    No matter what they say
    You'll be here
    in my heart always
    Always

thanks for the replies but still no luck. I know the lyrics i included in the first post are in the song. I heard the song on an XM business station in a retail store (i worked there). A few artists i recognized on that channel included: Go West, Phil Collins, Maroon 5; so theres a few artists to judge the genre.

    Thanks again!

    Google provides:

Get ready - If ever you need somebody

Tonic - Count On Me (Somebody) (mixed the sequence of words)

Ricky Nelson - Something You Cannot Buy

Note: I use google to search for the lyrics you gave and have no idea who these artists are, not what these songs are, I hope there is any relevant one...

    Just got this reply:

you could tap rhythm...maybe, just maybe it helps...

Furthermore keep your eyes open and ears on all boxes, whenever you hear the song write down radio station and current time, quite some radio stations broadcast playlists, also helpful to write down previous or next song (one which you know for sure), so you're sure you have the right one

I hear the song all of the time at work and I just learned that what I am listening to is the "HotFM" channel on Muzak. I checked at Muzak.com and I can't find any way to get a song list.

    Gonner need more input...

Based on the source and the lyrics, I'm guessing the genre is pop/soft rock.
Are the main vocals male, female or a group?
Are the lyrics you provided verbatim or just close?

In the meantime, try "Call On Me" by Keke Wyatt

Thanks for the reply but thats not it either...here are some more parts of the song:

"Little lucy....all you need is love cause love will pull you through..."

It does sound like a 90s pop/rock, medium tempo, male voice, sounds sortof like a Rick Springfield power love song...
