    the song i am after was sung sumtime between 200-2004(maybe)
    it is a remix of Snaps "i got the power"
    it was done as a rock remix,there was a chic in a cat suit done the backup singing(she sang stand up-it was the chorus line)
    i have no idea of the band-motor something(maybe)
    i remember a chequered flag being in there somewhere

    It was the German band H-Blockx.

    The song is called "The Power", released in 2002. As you can see from the cover here, it does feature a girl with chequered flag.
