Anybody heard of ΓΙΩΤΑ ΛΥΔΙΑ (GIOTA LIDIA)?

I would be so grateful if someone out there could send me the lyrics and the translation of an old rembetiko by Giota Lidia ( Γιώτα Λύδια ) .The song is "otan peseis s'alla xeria"(όταν πέσεις σ’άλλα χέρια). I can read the Greek alphabet so no need for Latin letters. Thanks a lot in advance.

Dearest Azim…Yes , you do have a sense of responsibility!! You should have been a teacher really..About your question? Βέβαια!! I would die for any kind of help related to Greek music or language!!! I’ve already told you I was all alone all through the process of learning Greek.. And this has brought me on the edge of losing my mind many times, and still does!!! Your guidance would be so invaluable!! I should confess that as I got the particular song above, I thought “ Should I eeer…ask for a translation as well? Or would it be too much? Or rather greedy?” So as a student with a deep sense of responsiblity as much as her tutor’s, I got down to work and did my first lyrics translation from Greek to English!!..I hadn’t tried that before because I just thought I wasn’t competent enough..and after all there was no teacher around to give me feedback on my progress! Now there is ..right? OK what I humbly ask for now is some proofreading..and some filling in the parts where I haven’t been able to interpret..I also translated the song you told me about. “Γιατί θες να φύγεις”. I downloaded it and I was shocked as the song started because it’s also a very popular Turkish folk song and it’s a song I just start singing naturally whenever I’m in a good mood or in the mood for dancing or celebrating..The other day a friend of mine called to say she was getting married and I just started singing “zeytinyagli yiyemem aman, basma da fistan giyemem aman…”(lyrics in Turkish. You can’t imagine how absurd the meaning is..don’t ask..) even before I said “congratulations” or “really! I’m so happy!” or something like that..So from now on I’ll be able to sing it in Greek as well, thanks to you!! And ΕΥΧΑΡΙΣΤΩ ΠΟΛΥ! So…Here we go:

Ok Let's do leave tutoring for some other time then.."γιαβρί" means something like "child" or " baby". And in Turkish we spell it like "yavru". But there's something weird about the use of it. I mean , I guess it doesn'have such a connotation in Greek but when you use the word for the opposite sex, it doesn't sound so good!! I mean it's not very kind or appropriate to address a woman as "γιαβρί μου". It's Ok when you're addressing to you children though..So I hardly recommend you not to address a woman like that, unless she's your girlfriend or wife or someone you have a crush on!!! Clear enough I guess..
