    Ok...I can't find the song I was looking for...but I found another one which also matches the description:

    K-ci (also KC) and Jojo - All My Life

    This is from 1998...dunno when exactly your childhood was...

    Note: no female vocalist, but rather high male voice

    The song I meant is by I think a British pop group, possibly including "prince" in band name (no it's not Prince himself...) I hope I will be able to remember

    This second song was from '70/'80 (if someone recognises this song plz tell me, I wanna have it too, thought I had it...)

    Only females I can think of in this time frame, (assuming it's reggae) are Lady Saw, Patra, and Dawn Penn (the No, no, no song)
