I heard a song once years ago, which I have only heard once and was quite moved by it. I believe it was a country song but perhaps it was by a Christian artist as well.
The song was slow and was a story told by a grandson. His grandfather had told him when he and his grandmother were young, they used to meet by this tree by a stream. One day he went there to find her gone. She left him a note that read something like "I'm sorry I can't be here now, but we'll be together soon."
They married and grew old.
At his grandmother's funeral, his grandfather pulled out that old note and read it again and this time it applied to heaven. The last few lies were something like "With tears in his eyes he read, "I'm sorry I can't be here now, but we'll be together soon"
Has anyone any idea what song this was? I am not even sure how to search for it.
Thanks
