Cool "Amy" and "Green Grass + High Times"

hello out there, Can someone tell me the name of the bands that recorded these 2 songs. They are from the late '70's or "80's.
1st one is called "Amy" - Amy what you wanna do, I think I could stay with, for a while maybe longer if I do.....
2nd song i think is named- "Green Grass and High Times Forever" Both of these sound alot like the bands Kansas, or the Outlaws, or ? Thank alot for any info!!

    "Amy" Pure Praire League

I can see why you think you belong to me
I never tried to make you think or make you see one thing for yourself
But now you're off with someone else and I'm alone
You see I thought I might keep you for my own

    Amy, what you wanna do
I think I could stay with you
For a while maybe longer if I do

Don't you think the time was right for us to find
All the things we thought weren't proper could be in time
And can't you see which way we should turn together or alone
I can never see what's right or what is wrong
Don't you take too long to tell me

    Amy, what you wanna do
I think I could stay with you
For a while maybe longer if I do

    Amy, what you wanna do
I think I could stay with you
For a while maybe longer if I do

Now just come to what you want you've had your way
And all the things you thought before just faded into gray
And you can say that I don't know if it's you or if it's me
If it's one of us I'm sure we both will see
Won't you look at me and tell me

    Amy, what you wanna do
I think I could stay with you
For a while maybe longer if I, longer if I do

    Amy, what you wanna do
I think I could stay with you
For a while maybe longer if I do
    Oh Stewardess..........I speak jive.

    Cool Thanks Jetstew re: Amy

Thanks for the quick answer. I;m fairly sure the 2nd song is titled "Green Grass and High Times Forever". Wasn't there a band way back in the late '70's or in the '80's called the Outlaws? I thought maybe thats who recorded it but I can;t find any mention of this band.

Don't feel bad; everyone gets the "high tide" lyrics wrong.

"Green Grass And High Tides" by the Outlaws. Great band. I think they did the best version of "Ghostriders in the Sky" ever.

In a place you only dream of
Where your soul is always free
    Silver stages, golden curtains
Filled my head, plain as can be
As a rainbow grew round the sun
All the stars I've love who died
Came from somewhere beyond the scene you see
These lovely people played just for me
Now if I let you see this place
    Where stories all ring true
Will you let me past your face
    To see what's really you
It's not for me I ask these questions
As though I were a king
For you have to love, believe and feel
Before the burst of tamborines take you there

    (chorus)
Green grass and high tides forever
Castles of stone souls and glory
Lost faces say we adore you
As kings and queens bow and play for you

    Those who don't believe me
Find your souls and set them free
Those who do, believe and love
As time will be your key
Time and time again I've thanked them
    For a piece of mind
    They helped me find myself
Amongst the music and the rhyme
    That enchants you there

    (repeat chorus)

Cool logan01 re: green grass +.......

Hey Man, (did I just sound like Tommy Chong?) thanks alot for you fast reply. It meant alot to me. Those 2 songs were 2 of my best friends favorite songs, who passed away a few years ago. where I live in humboldt county, ca. it is very rural and there are only 2 radio stations basically. And those 2 songs aren't exactly the most requested or chosen to be played, but one of them has come on about 6-7 times since my friend died. And where I was at the time is even more amazing. Like driving by his place that's out in the hills, or when I'm in a store buying fishing tackle to go Steelhead fishing, which he loved, etc.
    Have a good day, Scott

Hi Scott. Glad to help out. Real sorry to hear about your friend. Those are two of my favorite songs also. Lots of good memories. I had a friend in the army who was from that area and received a forestry degree from Humboldt State. Small world. Enjoy your tunes and take care.
