Default Looking for a song called "Rose" ?

Hi, new here, I heard a song on the radio Saturday, it's from the fifties and its country. I thought the announcer called the song "Rose" I didn't catch who was singing it, but I think he said it was written by a Ron/Rob/ MacEwan sp? Much appreciated if someone could help me out. I couldn't find a pen to write the info down so I'm going by memory

Maybe you meant Rod McKuen as the artist?
He has the following two "Rose" songs:

"Don't Forget To Bring Her A Rose"
    "The Importance Of The Rose"
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

The song I'm sure was named "Rose", it was one that is more story than song with the chorus being sung. It about a poor couple trying to get by in life then kids come and the lady Rose dies. I'm thinking it's from the 50's early 60's, that's all I can remember. TIA

Have you tried "Rose" from Bob Cook's album "Love is a Verb"? I found it on itunes, and it sounds similar to what you are describing. They have it listed as folk, but I think folk & country overlap a lot.

Nope it's none of the above. It's an older C&W song.
