The Quest for Dollars

I arrive at my desk at 9:00 am,
computer system ready with my phone in hand,
last night’s antic’s are taking their toll,
got to stay awake in order to stay on their payroll,
Mr Ramsden wants one thousand pounds on “red rum”,
he’s wasting big money while I’m fighting for crumbs,
hopefully if I play my cards right I wont end up on benefits,
because after basic rate tax my account still looks inadequate.

picking up the penny’s overshadowed by the rich,
got no other choice because I’m still poor,
trying to earn a living on the right side of the law,
I guess like Oliver twist I want More..More...More

Looking for a new job on a mission to get paid,
looking for a way to get more than the minimum wage,
my mums mad because she’s overdue on the rent,
an she’s screaming at me because all my money is spent,
this is the day to day life of a working class teen,
where every job applied for wants experience but there’s no in between,
how do they expect me to gain skills and ability’s,
there’s no way I can reach career goals realistically!

picking up the penny’s overshadowed by the rich,
got no other choice because I’m still poor,
trying to earn a living on the right side of the law,
I guess like Oliver twist I want More..More...More

So that’s the working population stuck in a rut,
Were running in circles just to get our cut,
when we need answers we look to the government,
But when there’s no action taken what other help can be sent?!

So I ask apart from sport music and drug’s how else do we make money,
my pockets are empty that’s why in my heart its raining even though its sunny.
